I presume the local eejits don’t really mean to carry out their acts of destruction on our lovely riverside walk, the beer cans and plastic bags that they throw in the river and it’s environs must accidentally fall out their pockets, along with the supermarket trollies, stolen bikes, syringes, and general cr#p.
Its a shame that they unknowingly walk into newly planted trees and knock them over and obviously mean well when they accidentally set fire to a centuries old oak tree.
Obviously the local wildlife appreciate motorbikes being illegally ridden through their habitat and during the winter enjoy a bit of warmth from those stolen, dumped and torched cars.

The local authority help as well, they like to run gang mowers through the nesting sites of rare birds, well, gives em a bit more room doesn’t it, also gives more space for the local druggies to sit around and aim their lager cans at whatever rare butterfly they can spot, not that there’s many left.

What cracked us up last night was watching Bill Oddies current nature programme, guess what, he has a rat in his garden and has the same problem as me, trouble is, many offspring have appeared to.
He’s tried every remedy without resorting to nasty measures, I will be interested to see how this pans out.

The RAF is only a tactical force because the government wont procure bombers for it, right now they only have the equiptment for close air support, interceptions, recon and tactical strikes (and even those assets are woefully limited), all the government would have to do to address that would be to procure a sufficient fleet of decent sized bombers (the nimrod airframe would be nice and BAE say they can produce new airframes after what they learned with MRA4), as the RAF certainly still have the skillset to fly them.

Thats ‘all’ the need to do is it? Would you like to take a guess at how long a Nimrod derived bomber is going to last in defended air space?

I doubt Boeing genuinely thinks this particular design will ever fly, let alone in 2024. What is likely going on is Boeing laying down the ground for future projects, Super Hornets and Strike Eagles will not last forever.

I already have an air rifle, a powerful one too, but it gathers dust in the corner, I save it for local human scum, animals deserve more respect, thank you very much.
As for the old Jack Russell, he’s lived in the country most of his life and is very adept at catching rabbits, sooner or later he’ll get lucky, he spends most of his time lurking round the shed these days.
Ratty can’t get inside the shed anyway, and I suspect he spends his time wandering between gardens, I had a good look at him through the binoculars the other day, he doesn’t look like some city dwelling piece of vermin to me, he is after all a natural species who just got peed off with trying to avoid the dickheads trying to destroy nature around here, apart from avoiding the dogs, I suspect he has a nice life here, good luck to his resourcefulness.
You may think I’m mad, but I’ve always lived with rats whichever house I’ve had.
The best story was when I lived in a Victorian house in Witham. Next door was a Jack Russell enthusiast who did all sorts of hideous night time animal catching activities with his dog, but he never sussed out the rat living under his shed. It was when I found the thing had moved its abode into my fridge that I got the hump, it took some doing to corner it and despatch it with a spade, hated doing it and it upset me, but my ‘then’ missus was seriously ill in bed at the time and I couldn’t risk it getting upstairs. Daft sod next door didn’t believe me till I chucked it over his fence, one seriously in trouble dog.

If you are shooting humans with an air rifle you need to be locked up.

Rats do not deserve respect, they spread disease and damage property where ever they are. The use of an air rifle is not disrespect anyway.

I too like gray area got a bit too close for comfort to an attack albeit not a solder but a police officers in uniform in 92.
So my views i stick by. Our people in uniform do a tough enough job as it is with out the added pressure of being on public show because that’s what it is ,a show.

In which case you need to ask very serious questions about the state of UK society. Uniformed personnel in a democracy are servants to the state not its decision makers.
