A week ago, I noticed that there was no section on the wikipedia entry for the Sa-80 rifle listing the considerable faults and controversies surrounding the weapon, which was surprising, because there used to be such a section, so I duly added one. It may of not been perfect, but I did my best.

Anyway, I check the entry today, and it has (rather conveniently for the MoD) disappeared. I think someone may be editing wikipedia to their benefit :rolleyes:

Oh well, I guess its to be expected, but it makes me question whether this is in the spirit of free speech. :confused:

The SA-80 no longer has these problems. They were on the Mark 1, the Mark 2 is a far superior weapon and by some reports has been out performing the M-16 series in current operations. To say that the current SA-80 is a flawed or faulty is wrong.

Anyone know why China wouldn’t allow U.S. sailors to go into Hong Kong for a port of call during the Thanksgiving Holiday? I understand it’s something most Chinese don’t celebrate, but it just seems rather mean to not allow these people to see their families (many of whom probably flew to Hong Kong for the occasion).

Also, I heard that a pair of U.S. minesweepers requested refuge in port from a storm and they were denied by Beijing.

I understand the U.S. and China aren’t the best of friends, but does simple humanity not outweigh political differences in certain situations?

This all just seems…..well…mean.

The GP escort frigate concept is still very much alive. It is just a case that they have become even more multi-role. With the ever increasing power and range of missiles and radar has resulted in these vessels becoming mini destroyers rather than true Frigates. From the USN perspective the LCS is a psychological OHP replacement and I have no doubt that as missions re-orientate in the coming decades that the LCS will get modules that make it an ASW frigate.

Certainly lacking in that department.

Your comment does not change fact that number of F-22 in USA service is pure American problem and not problem of entire international community that is contributing to this forum and it has nothing to do with air to air combat tactics but only with internal USA politics.

Seeing as it is currently the only true ‘stealth’ fighter in service now I think it would be absurd not to mention it in this thread.:rolleyes:
