You surely have some test results on that, don’t you?
I don’t know where do you have this from that ergonomic design of the AR is worth something. I personally found the rifle awful to hold and to operate.
Its called personal experience and general perception gathered from others. Its also the reason behind the great bullpup debate and why current western rifle designs are covered in Polymer bulges.
Yeas but if you give me AR15 and RK62 and if we pretent that I’ve would be equailly unfamiliar with both weapons, I doupt that the scores would be much different in range. Or if we would put a humansized target, I bet my ass that with both rifles the hits are at equally lethally area. And thats all you need from assault rifles.
I’ve never used AR15 so I really cannot say how nice it may feel to your hand or how accurate it actually is. But I’ve fired alot with Kalashnikoviks and it prooved to be more than enough accurate in the very first time I tested it so there really weren’t much to improve from there. Nor have Kalashnikovik ever felt uncomftable to fire at any position.
If a battery of common finnish lads from all sectors of life and randomly selected taken out from the blue and given rifles and told which direction to shoot didn’t complain about Kalashnikoviks poor ergonomics (and I can assure you we did complain from everything that was even a hint of a another nail in the coffin) then it prooves me enough that Kalashnikoviks ergonomics hardly makes a difference…-
You dont get this do you, better ergonomics improves effectiveness, it is a no brainer.
…so you understood that the Aya!!! yell in this on particular posters first post was negative word and ment same as no??
And who are you to call anyone to support anyone in a princible. Should this one particular poster draft a list of all those people victims of other oppresive regimes which you haven’t expressed your support???
Only you could try and pick fight in a thread like this.

The ordinary people tried this back in the late eighties, 3000 of them got killed by the Junta so it is probably understandable that they are on the scared side. The involvment of the Monks is critical due to their revered place within society and it should be pointed out that contrary to what one poster here seems to be suggesting the ‘ordinary people’ are heavily involved in this. I note that that paticular poster has yet to express his support for those protesting against the regime.

Ergonomics can theoretically improve your combat ability, but the marginal between AKs and some more modern and cleaner western rifles are as small as the accuracy and other factors that it would really make any difference.
There is nothing theoretical about it, better located controls better balance better cheek weld etc etc will all help to improve accuracy and reaction time. Hence so much effort is put into ergonomics when weapons are designed, especially in the west.
Oh and Garry I never said anybody could not use an AK, just that the types ergonomics are (in my opinion and in the opinion of many many others) inferior to the AR-15 type, so your little remark about 5 year old Africans was utterly unneccesary.
If that was true, the answer would have been adequate. But it is not.
Seems to be fine for everyone else, you will just have to learn to live with it.
Aya!!!
Also for Rhodesia, Siam, Zaire, Yugoslavia, DDR and even for Soviet union and for the rest of the “no-longer-existing country names”…
…Whats wrong to use the name Myamar??
Call it what you like, in the UK and US its referred to as Burma, but either way the point still stands.

Crying out loud swerve and sealordlawrence its on a bloody plane  😀 Wait and see what happens But I do like Plan B if the MOD cancel the F-35 and thats a Sea Typhoon :diablo:
James
Maybe they could call it Fury!
Basically, it is a big equation, since it involves very uncertain numbers, both in terms of cost estimates, and estimates as to numbers. I doubt they will cancel either the -A or the -C, and almost certainly not the -B. I would argue that what is really needed are more cheap fighters, possibly even just F-16s or even refurbed A-10s, but that’s enough to get you shot in the USAF procurement circles…. :diablo:
I think that pretty much covers. I dont see any of the variants going anywhere now, the danger point seems to have been passed, obviously strange things do happen but all three variants look secure now.
There you go again. A reply which is childish, offensive, & entirely devoid of information. Are you actually trying to make yourself look a fool?
Nothing childish about it, unlike you usage of the word fool. Simply pointing out that you answered your own question.;)
Certainly a pretty a little thing. Good way of putting the reasonably good manufacturing skills of the old military industrial complex to good use in the civilian sector too. But surely they could have come up with something more imaginative than Superjet?
I dont know whether this will be any use to you, but here it is. Its about an Elbit upgrade for the amphib transport version, hope it helps.
