So what version is this technically? The M-3?
Buk-M2E, improvements relate to elctronic sub-systems.
I think they will be interested in a tracked version too? Or is this simply a wheeled version of the latest Russian one? Buk-M1-2 or Buk-M3?
I have seen no reference to a tracked version, only the wheeled version that will apparently include a number of improvements.
And where is the evidence that they were delivered? The article you posted is from 2007…
…In 2008 we have Israel requesting Russia not to go through with the proposed sale
These saga goes back years and yet to result in any S-300’s being delivered to Iran.
The notion that Iran is well defended is absurd. A powerful deterrent in terms of retaliatory action yes but its elderly and small airforce combined with limited AD systems is far from anything special.
I would advise that people read SOC’s excellent blog entry on this very subject: http://geimint.blogspot.com/2007/09/iranian-sam-network.html
Second the motion:
To quote the old lady in the ad…”Where’s the beef???”
Where is the proof you state as fact that Iran can hit Europe with an IRBM? Where is the proof about no S-300 capability in Iran?
Looking forward to your response sir.
Try following the news. Iran itself stated that its missiles can reach Europe and the reports that Iran ‘is to recieve S-300’ or ‘is still negotiating’ etc are endless.
Just one: http://www.defensenews.com/story.php?i=3764075
Perhaps you would like some pictures of S-300’s not being in Iran.
Why no comment? It is a wheeled and generally improved version of the Buk system. It is a very long way from not being just CG but apparently there is a timeline for mock-ups and then prototypes.
The mirror can be painful.
Well you should know.
LOLUMAD? 2 vs 1 here.
😀
Wow you pathetic.
Please see my previous post where I use the words “perhaps” and “may“. There is no specific evidence showing Iranian deployments or overt deliveries, however there is a considerable amount of circumstantial and conjecture based evidence out there from multiple sources in multiple countries with multiple points of view.

And again sealordlawrence, with all due respect, I hope you personally see the irony in arguing in this thread about the specifics of an Iranian S-300 purchase/deployment when in another thread you base your entire argument for missile defense sites in Eastern Europe on little or no hard evidence of the kind you appear to demand here.
Irony indeed.
No irony at all. It is a fact that Iran has missiles that can hit Europe and it is a fact that there are no S-300s in Iran.
His accusations looked perfectly legit to me.
Of course they did, they were a repeat of your false accusations.:rolleyes:
Belarus perhaps has, and Ukraine was/is a possibility..
Any evidence for that?
That claim can be correct in a nominal way. Were that people asked, that no Iranian personal was trained or is in training? Be it in Russia or China, whereever such systems are bought? With trained personal it is just a few days to bring in the missing hardware and to create a combat readiness. 😉
Any evidence to support the idea?

You may be right sealord, but you may be wrong as well. Where there is smoke there is usually fire.
It is amyth hat will not die. Russia has categorically stated that it has not delivered S-300’s to Iran
I do not think that this is within the scope of Israel alone. Iran has hardened and dispersed it’s sites to the point that I do not think Israel has the ability to knock the alleged “program” out with one strike. I am not even taking into consideration the fact that Iran has been diligently working on improving it’s air defense abilities (Tugunska and S-300 purchases for example).
There are no S-300’s in Iran.
Not only that, I also stink and have the weird habit of pi$$ing in the washing basin. :p
Anything else you got on mind or are you finished with the BS?
Just as soon as you have finished with the false accusations.
I will say it for the last time here..
1. yes, I think you are xenophobic. It is my private opinion and I do not declare it otherwise. Others are welcome to think different.
2. I am specifically referring to your response #256 but also to general impression I get from your posts in other threads from time to time. There were over 5200 of them so far, don’t expect me to waste my time looking them up..
3. If you do not like the impression I get from your posts, it is not my fault, the fault is yours. I don’t have abilities to see inside your head and even if I had them I would not bother looking. If you are not xenophobic and want people acknowledge that, then write as if you are not. Plain and simple. This topic is finished for me. Out.
You have failed to provide anyevidence for your absurd and offensive accusations, thus you are a liar and a troll.
