Well my concern is those remaining “undeployed” Sovremennys and the status of the Delta III, Akula, Oscar II submarines..hopefully that Kirov will be repaired soon (I bet Putin will make a big thing out of it..)

oh, and is which sub is supposed to replace the Kursk? Belgorod right? Or did they get rid of that idea?

also where are the Sierra I,II subs deployed?
Any in the pacific fleet.. and how capable are the subs considered (in general and as of now)

btw severo.. where r u from? and where do u live.. just curious

Well the Pacific Fleet as of now is a crappy shape isn’t it? I’d assume if the Americans came by in a bad mood that the only way they’d survive is if they got up every possible Backfire-C at Alekseyevka..

Well would the Silex be effective against Los Angeles and Seawolf subs?

The defensive bias is fine, as long as they can hold out against whatever anyone can throw at them.

If they need to “take care” of things elsewhere, there’s always the strategic bombers (now with their new Kh-101/555 missiles) and the ICBMs/SLBMs…

right, so what’s the final loadout in a Russian Navy boat? 😛 Like I mentioned above?

also, any news on if any have been built.. 2 Bora Class Corvettes have been built already, so the Russian navy seems to be funding these light boats.. and that Neustrashimiy (Urans and Kastans here right?)

Seems the new Russian Navy policy is not to contend with the US navy in size and number … but to simply outgun them (and other opponents, but lets face it, it’s mostly the US that tries to intimidate other nations with its CVBGs)

so…instead of more Kirovs, Slavas, Sovremennys…build light attack boats like Tarantul-3 (well not anymore), Bora, Scorpion with powerful antiship missiles like the Moskit and Yakhont..which have an advantage in being cheap, fast and harder to detect than a larger capital ship..

btw.. what’s the AK-630 and how ermm “good” is it? seems to be mounted on loads of russian ships.. never cared to examine it though 😐

How many Su-30s (possibly upgraded ones?) do the Russians even have.. I wasn’t aware the Air Force had any Su-30s…

Well that means their bad accuracy is made up for with nuclear warheads on the Kh-55/102 😉

Hmmz nope.. according to http://www.fas.org and http://www.globalsecurity.org

    Lazarev is North.

    Admiral Lazarev SY 189 NOR 07/27/1978 05/26/81 10/31/1984 (ex-Frunze)
    1990 laid up at Severomorsk
    inactive from mid-1990s
    to be scrapped
