that spreadsheet sounds good 🙂
what about radars of those boats? (and all those systems, can anyone be boat-specific?)
meh.. referring to intelligence services.. that’s government..
OMFG. I would slap whoever is starting this argument on the American side. Take ur commanding crap elsewhere :@ That’s one thing that ****es me off about America. AmeriCANS don’t take this personally, people are one thing (im dating one, and im a ruski), but people who mouth off in Bush’s administration are another.
There IS evidence of an even newer ARH AAM in experimental stages in Russia. Either for the 5th gen fighters (and possibly 4+ ones).
As for the R-77/AA-12/RVV-AE/.. W/E 😛
No one really knows how effective the missile is? (I don’t see any Vympel employees here) and then there’a also the R-77M that’s being tested (For production when?)
The newer ARH AAM is named K-something.. I will look for it.
Akulas give LA SSNs a good run for their money .. weapons loadout a starting point..
and their noise levels came “as a surprise” to the west. (http://www.globalsecurity.org)
With 2 hulls now complete for the SSBN Borey, where is the Severodvinsk??
that’s like the RuAF’s new Su-27SMs?
quoted off of the http://www.roe.ru
“The idea behind the modernisation consists in providing the MiG-29 fighter with new combat capabilities and a considerable increase in the tactical radius at minimum cost. The resulting effectiveness of the aircraft when employed against aerial targets will grow by 1.8-2.2 times, while that against ground targets will grow 3.5-fold compared with the MiG-29 fighter.
The modernisation programme of the MiG-29 and the MiG-29UB features a modular principle.
Modernisation of the weapons control system. The N019ME radar is replaced by the Zhuk-M radar. The target acquisition range on head-on courses grows to 120 km, while the number of simultaneously engaged targets rises to four.
This makes the MiG-29 a truly multirole fighter, whose combat effectiveness equals that of the F-16C in the striker role, while outplaying the F/A-18C and Mirage 2000-5 in terms of cost-effectiveness.
Modernisation of the cockpit management system. The MiG-29SMT can fit two colour LCD MFDs with push-button and HOTAS controls. The MVK-SUV three-channel quadruple-redundant digital computer is compliant with the MIL-STD-1553B international standard, which means the aircraft can be customised in order to meet specific needs.
Modernisation of the fuel system to increase the tactical radius of the aircraft. The internal fuel store of the MiG-29SMT has grown almost by 1,000 litres due to the use of strap-on tanks. The capacity of the external fuel tank grew by 500 kg. Also, the flight refuelling system can be added to the aircraft.
Reduction of the aircraft operation cycle costs due to the advanced built-in monitoring system, new Karat system and the NASK ground-based monitoring system. One flight hour costs $ 5,500. “
Anyone got any info on the Mig-29SMT’s radar/new avionics? And a pic as sexy as that?
Both the Su-27SM and Mig-29SMT are very real. Do a little googling 🙂
why wouldnt the russians get within 150km of the CVBG? F-18C/Es going to outrange Mig-31s and outgun Su-27SMs? (escorting the Backfires)
anyone have any technical info on the new avionics of the Su-27SM?
like specs for the radar (or model atleast)
I think the Russians stand a fairly decent chance against the US in a ground war. Granted T90s might be lacking in #s, the T-80s and T-72s with ERA can’t be all that bad, Russia has like 12,000 total tanks.
what’s the replacement slated for the R-77 missile? It’s a K-xx something?
there was another K-xx shown to be the next generation medium range missile.
woulda been funny if the AS-16s (which were like launched from visual range) all had 200kt nuclear warheads… 😛
