because of the size difference, does the blackjack carry a higher payload?
(because i saw some source claim something opposite)
Shipwrecks can identify targets by threat level and engage accordingly…
and the Harpoon and Exocet are rubbish anyway, so yes, what he’s suggesting is pretty normal 😛
still no one has answered.. about what the russians will likely adopt.. is there any evidence that the Brahmos is better than the Yakhont?
other than that, someone mentioned something i just thought about earlier today.. the Yakhont does look like a mini Shipwreck.
the Russians are going to stick with the SS-N-26 Yakhont though.. right?
the Moskit as far as I know comes in TWO (major) variants:
The 3M80 and 3M82
the 3M80 is 120KM range ?
the 3M82 is 250KM range ?
the 3M80 is on the standard line 956 Sovremennys and Tarantul III patrol boats…
the newer 3M82 is on the Sovremenny 956A destroyers
one of the forms of the Moskit is on the Udaloy II destroyers..
…something called the 9M80E is also available (globasecurity.org) ??
but why would they want to arm the Backfires with Yakhonts (and I’d never put on that indian-russian missile Brahmos on if I were russian)
The Kh-22M, advertised in the latest Russian/English Military Parade book, has a speed of Mach 4, Max launch Range of 400KM (less than that of the Kh-22, which has a range of 500KM), and a 930KG warhead!
While not having the low flight path of the Yakhont or Sunburn, it’s got way bigger range and a 3x bigger payload. The missile is guided by a self contained passive and active radar.
if the missile is as rubbish as you say, the russians would have long abandoned it i think.. not enough money to make rubbish..
it’s the Kh-22M, so they must have updated it. Also, the missile’s speed is Mach 4, so I wouldn’t underestimate it too much.
i cant be positive about what speed these values are for, but i i think they are compared to the 9G of the Mig-29. (Data from Lock On)
F-14A: 6.5G
F/A-18C: 7G
F/A-18E: 7.5G
F-15C: 8G
F-16C: 8G
why are the loadouts in Lomac wishful thinking? R-27EMs are in service on the Su-33s for fleet defense vs cruise missiles.
haha! obvious? r u on crack or what? i’m positive u’ve seen first hand how russian radars are jammed with western countermeasures.. LOL. especially the 4th generation ones. not the ones that are buried under the sand in Iraq.
Who sent what to Iraq? Russians sent Backfires? :S
There’s a modernized version of this missile, which is also for export. Designated Kh-22M. From the latest Military Parade book in Russian/English.
A Carrier isn’t that hard to hit 😛 or a cruiser.
Yahoo25 can you point me to the evidence of what you’re saying?
dang, 24 SS-N-26s is good!
still, the Oscar II remains the baddest sub around.. no? I mean 24 Granats is nasty!
what’s the current production model for the russian VVS?
which radar does the Su-33 use?
As far as I know, the 180 or so Russian Mig-29SMTs will have the NIIR Zhuk ME radars. Those are quite good.
