The Kh-22/M and Kh-32 look identical according to all reports.

Internal components – especially motor, are different; hence why the massive difference in missile specs.

The Backfire-C to me is the most beautiful and fearsome aircraft ever designed. It will be a sad day to see them go in a few decades.

I’d say 12 boats would be a minimum effective total – 6 each for North / Pacific fleet. That way at least 5 per fleet would be operational.

Would be nice to see some improved Yakhont types become operational – a necessity almost. 500 – 600KM range and near hypersonic. This would at least let the missiles take advantage of the expanding Lotos-S system.
