Have you actually read the senseless rambling in that article? With no evidence whatsoever?!

What “mythological destructability” ? Nothing is indestructable to nuclear weapons, not the US not Russia. And no, the US has no nuclear primacy over Russia. It’s MAD all the way still. And if the Americans go all macho and start building up nukes like crazy, the Russians can always MIRV up the SS-27 and even the SS-25 I think, Bulava, and what not. Since all their other ICBMs were MIRV-capable anyway.

Holes in radar networks? SSBNs sitting at port? Sweet jesus, the author is psychic! Failed missile tests? All erroneous now, the tested the missiles again lately and it’s all good.

ICBM reduction? Yeah, why not, it’s fine to obliterate the world 2 times over, 3 is just a little too much.

A surprise US attack would destroy all Russian chance of retaliation?! Yeah, this guy must know all the Russian retaliation plans.. just like I’m sure the US government would “know” all of them too. This guy provides numbers for us based on lord knows what… I mean where’s the data processing?

Rokosowsky listen to your story telling. You sound like some upset kid or something…

With no evidence to back anything that you say, all you do is keep calling everyone over-optimistic.

What threat to Russia? NOTHING can threaten Russia, not in 1962 or in 2012. Some sources point to total USSR Nuclear Warheads to have been 30,000+ at the fall of the USSR. No, they have around 40% of that right now, with about 25% in ready to use state.

Just recently, the SS-24 train complexes were scrapped. Leaving?

Delta IVs, Typhoons at sea… Boreys on the way.

and on land? A plethora of the latest built for their time SS-18s (which are JUST sick), SS-19s, SS-25s and the currently-building regiments of SS-27s of the Russian Strategic Missile Forces.

Then we have the TU-22M3 Backfire Cs, still in the Hundreds.. A growing fleet of Tu-160s, and the Tu-95MS/MS16s. All nuclear capable.

Fact of the matter is, the Americans can’t even manage their situation in Iraq. A bunch of untrained monkeys with homemade bombs.. for lack of better words.. are killing US soldiers by the lot. JUST THINKING OF INVADING RUSSIA IS SUICIDE, FORGET NUCLEAR WEAPONS.

Europe and the USA would be obliterated in nuclear fire within days. Same back. Whether we’re talking 30 years ago or 10 years from now.

I saw one fly 500 meters over my head here in New Delhi, India. I live like 10 KM from the airport.. (in a straight line)… see Il-76s and the occasional An-124 on the weekend 🙂

Yeah but the Russians still have a full arsenal of SS-18s, SS-19s, SS-25s, SS-27s, and they JUST recently withdrew the SS-24s on rail platforms.. what a shame 🙁

That must add up to something

Last I checked, Russia had around 25,000 nuclear warheads

US around .. 12,000? Garry I think you said somewhere that the Russians have less.. are you sure? 😐

I think the Victor III is comparable to the standard LA class, while the improved Akulas are comparable to the LA Improved class.

The TOR-M1 might not be too great for destroying high flying bombers, but does the US really use those in Iraq? No.

Lots of Apaches, A-10s, F-18s, and what not. Spare the TORs for later (aka, after the initial bombardment by not exposing them), and see what happens to the US aircraft.

What we really need to know is the status of the 2 Borey Class Subs, the Severodvinsk SSN, and the remaining Kirovs (i think Ushakov is dead, but there are 2 more in dock).

Also, which new frigates/destroyers is the navy buying? And corvettes? (I doubt they are making any more cruisers or kirovs in the future)…

I thought a couple of those were the Sierra-IIs.

    http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/russia/945-list.htm

Pskov and Nizhniy Novgorod? Both are listed as Sierra IIs, probably the ones they want to leave in service.

    The Russian Tu-22M3 and Tu-160s use the AS-16 Kickback/Kh-15 missile. It’s hypersonic.
