Quite correct Moggy, the owner of the titch normally flies a Cessna Citation.

Thanks Trak-Tor. I missed seeing it in the UK, perhaps it will come back for one of our shows.

My NPPL renewal medical with my GP used to cost a couple of pints of Greene King IPA at the Rose and Crown and a chat about the state of English test cricket. The new owners of the partnership have upped it a bit to £30 but that’s still better than up to £200 for a Class 2, which I wouldn’t get anyway.

An excellent set Juraj. It looks as though it was an interesting show with a good cross-section of types. Anybody know where the silver Hurricane is based now? It looks terrific in that colour scheme.

When I spoke to one of the engineers in Hangar 5, he said the B-25 scheme was still “secret”. Make of that what you will.

The Spitfire over Henlow would have been MH434 on the way to display at Cowes at 1940 flown by Stu Golds pink.

Looks as though they were busting the 500 ft rule unless they had dispensation for the fly past. What the heck, it’s a nice picture anyway.

Thanks chaps. It will be good to see it on the “circuit”.

Moggy, it was Stu Golds pink flying MH434 today and Steve Jones yesterday.

Those Merlin’s clattered across Top Farm just as I was taking off yesterday evening. Frightened me silly. They were using a “Switchblade” call sign.

Just out of interest, who owns which airframes? I thought they had all been put in to a trust with a few exceptions.

I think it was supposed to be the “Endeavour” but anyway it just rotted away and all that remains is the outline of the hull.

I must confess I never really understood why they moved the airworthy fleet down to Newquay. Rightly or wrongly the greater proportion of airshows are in central or southern England and therefore any show appearances with these aircraft would have entailed an extra 60 minutes (there and back) transit time. I understand it is hard enough to make money from airshows anyway and that just seemed an extra handicap.

As you say a lovely result. How many manhours does that shiny finish take to maintain.
