Probably the York which wasn’t a world beater.
I still think the Viscount should be indoors as it’s the oldest turboprop airliner in the world.
I bet you got GCSE English Roobarb. Excellent outburst of “punnery” if there is such a word!
So it’s in good hands then. Still remember my flight in it at a Moth Club event at Old Warden and good value at £60.
Can’t get enough of the Dragonfly. Did it change hands as I believe it was up for sale recently? Agree with the previous posters, please keep up the good work on the photo updates and I look forward to your efforts in 2015
If I remember correctly there is a very nice library in the Ante Room of the Officers Mess. I wonder where all the paintings and books have gone?
Weren’t they asking 2.4 million POUNDS, not dollars, for one of the Spitfire 1 rebuilds?
Not quite clear if the port fuselage boom and tailplane are there and attached to the rest of the aircraft?
Pleased to be of help. It’s fairly expensive but doesn’t carry much advertising, unlike AM which was starting to get overrun with adverts. The website is very useful to see what’s coming up in future editions. I have to say I don’t have any connection with it other than as a satisfied customer
Sabre jet suggested there was a gap for a quality historical magazine. I think Aviation Historian could fill that gap. Nothing to do with WW.
Sabrejet, you presumably haven’t read “Aviation Historian” yet then?
Just dropped my aircraft off for servicing at Little Staughton and I can confirm that the runway is still usable with care. There are one or two areas where there are loose stones. Work seems to have stalled on the control tower although the scaffolding is still in place. While I was waiting at the runway intersection for my lift home, there was the usual feeling at WW2 airfields that the place had seen more exciting times.
Thank you for this very interesting link. I always look forward to seeing the “Swiss” MS 406 at Flying Legends as it’s something different, at least here in the UK.
Lovely pictures and quite a contrast to the flatlands of East Anglia where I fly. Mind you we can get some nice shots with the early morning mists at the moment.
Thanks Viscount. I must confess I didn’t think Wkipedia would have info on the Prince!
