I think you’re right on all counts Hooligan.
Thanks “kartman”,. Fairthorpes all seemed to differ in details didn’t they and the green one caught me out. There is a remote aviation connection in that Faiirthorpe built a UK version of the French Emeraude and called it the Linnet. It was also called the Garland-Bianchi Linnet.
At the risk of thread drift, “kartman could you identify the BRG sportscar in your picture. I think the others are Fairthorpe variants but I can’t identify the green one.
It will be interesting to see what effect Brexit has (if any) on the Legends line-up.
What an excellent “find”. Nice to see the British heritage well represented.
Absolutely right Sopwith. I’ve had my Airtourer for 32 years and there is nothing I can afford that comes near to replacing it. It just simply fills my “mission profile” very well…
ARCo are going to be busy with this and the Mosquito. It’s going to be very exciting.
Slight thread drift but what was the point of the Sperrin. Was it a fallback in case the V-bombers failed?
And one where every private pilot in East Anglia wants to do at least a “touch and go” along it.
Many thanks Errol.
Wonderful to see the Gull flying along with the warbirds. Really good photography. Any more of the Airtrainer? (I fly an NZ built Airtourer here in the UK).
What a pity but thanks for the replies. The full title of the You Tube video was “11 Amazing abandoned airplanes”.
It certainly made a very pleasant change from “Countryfile” at that time of a Sunday evening. Let’s hope it gets through to the general public and encourages some new enthusiasts.
Thanks for the update Blurrkup and Daz. Pretty impressive effort.
Good stuff but what’s the background story with the Spitfire N1940K that appears towards the end of the video.?
