Why don’t we have a Mig-29 family versus Su-35 for a change. After all, what fighter aircraft did the Su-27 eventually shoot down in combat…;)

in almost all the mig-29 vs su-27 encounters, the flanker won because the fulcrum was running out of gas as usual. almost all su-27 shots were done at mig-29s trying to disengage and return home

One thing to consider, the Su will be probably, like large U.S. aircraft in “Nam be able to return with large chunks of the airframe damaged or missing.

Same amount of damage on a Rafale, will mean the pilot takes the silk ride.

i agree.. the sukhoi looks like it’ll take hits better.

Dassault should trust HAL to produce Rafales, trust comes both ways. As said, Dassault along with everyone else that took part knew India’s requirements.

would Eurofighter trust HAL to produce Eurofighters?
obviously Sukhoi trusts HAL to build MKis

Su-35 – export project. Russian Air Force took him only because the PAK FA is late. PAK FA fighter to become one, it will replace the MiG-29, Su-27 and MiG-31.
In dangerous missions it will fly instead of the Su-34

do you feel later model Pak-fa will also eventually replace su-35?

well how much do you think the RCS of a 22 meter long Su-35 with straight through inlets can be reduced to? the same as a 15 meter long Rafale with a Y duct?

USSR out of poverty has become a leading world power. And perhaps because of such “draconian measures” to remain independent.

and Finland gave you Karelia in exchange. be happy Finns and Karelians are not like Iranians and Chechens.

Indonesia has no claim over the Spratleys. Claims are made by China, Brunei, Vietnam, Philippines, Taiwan and Malaysia.

Indonesia has no claim over the Spratleys, but China claims Indonesia’s Natuna Islands as theirs and part of the Spratleys

It takes a few engineers to design a plane. Dassault itself employs about 100 engineers, tops. Also, Iran has been designing planes since the 1990s at least.

south Korea makes better weapons than Iran. South Korea is a country that likes science.

Science and religion go hand in hand. Science cannot explain God. Many scientists are extremely religious. Einstein was deeply religious as were most of the biggest names during the Renaissance and Enlightenment.

Indeed, not long after religion was born tens of thousands of years ago, man created science in an attempt to explain God. Currently, physicists continue to search for the so called God particle.

Having issues with Russian hardware and the Russian government on the matter is damaging enough, regardless of how well another Russian manufacturer is.

how so? MiGs problems are because its a broke company. How should this affect Sukhoi and the Russian Government

Will the PAK-FA be ready by time the RMAF takes delivery? I think not, so keep a realistic view. If we’re talking purely A/A then what would be the better choice of all the aircraft in the MMRCA competition?

Singaporeans practice dispersed runway operations from highways.

They’re also apparently interested in F-35B so you can throw in parking lots.

In 1991 Iraq struggled neutralising Kuwaiti A-4s because they operated from highways after airbases were besieged.

Finally Malaysian artillery doesn’t seem to be that strong – nearly universally towed guns with 36 MLRS. Singapore’s artillery is generally much more stronger (SPG and generally 155mm guns as opposed to 105mm for Malaysian army).

I assume if it ever came down to it, the Singaporeans would be launching pre-emptive strikes anyway – hence F-15SG, F-16D (Peace Carvin IV) and now F-35 purchases.

I assumed it was F-35A, if it is the B version then you would have a point.
so what can Malaysia do to shut down singapore? I don’t believe they really need a tit for tat solution but can do so assymetrically using their geographic advantage
