One an be solved with money the other not.
the other can be solved with words.
potential issues between Malaysia and US supply of spares were all Mahathir’s own doing because he was so anti-Israel and part time anti-US. none of the other Malaysian leaders afterwards share the same views, thus your spare issues from the US is weakened.
secondly if Malaysia had the money to solve Migs spare issues, they would’ve done it by now but the problem is deeper than money. Its a moot point. Malaysia didn’t invite MiG to the next round so don’t bother arguing about fantasy MiG-29 variants in the RMAF.
People tend to like newer hardware.
people also like hardware that works

take your pick, lack of spares because the US blocked sales of it
or lack of spares because MiG is unable to deliver it

I want to inform that its just an representational picture and after the conceptual design phase its waiting for a clear picture of the bird.
stop passing off fan art as official pictures. you’re making TAI and Saab look bad.
got a question on MiG-29 vs F-15?
email this guy

In the absence of big problems affecting the A (but not the C) it does not make sense to me to consider dropping the A.
Re: possibly reducing the US orders to 1,500 from 2,400+ I see no cost death spiral if it is predicted to increase unit costs by less than 10%. Cost has already risen by far more than 10% without procurement numbers changing.
drop the A. You can’t land the A on a carrier but you can land the C on land.
always prioritize the Navy over the Air Force!
It’s not like you can’t fit a Su-30MKM with an AESA radar or that Su-30MKM is known for its limited technical specs.
For a non aligned country like Malaysia buying US hardware depends mainly on the end user agreement, specially when US politicians can jeopardize those systems at will through sanctions.
the RMAF prefers their Hornets over the MiG-29
but Mahathir prefer the MiG-29 over the Hornet because of politics.
however that’s no longer true these days. Mahathir is gone and Malaysia is more closer to the west now.
Whuch is pretty irrelevant. You will have to look at the Airframe both Engines are attached on.. duh.
How much space and weapons weight can you carry on Rafale when it hauling 2*DT?
Or do you think any potencial Customer would care of such thing?
Rafale with external fuel tank can fly further than Su-30 (i dont know about the su-35) and this does not include inflight refueling. So far I have not seen the SU-30 with external fuel tanks.
Afghanistan, Libya, Mali showed that Rafale can still carry quite a bit even with big gas cans on the side.
su-35 could carry more but since we’ve never seen it or its 27, or 30 ancestors doing the same in actual operations.. hard to say if it really can do what you think it does.
And again as in the Russian-AF-tread:
… interesting, since Bangladesh is also rumoured to be the launch-customer for the Chinese L-15 !
Bangla land is generally closer to China and also anti-India.
I would believe its much more likely they would buy L-15 over Yak-130.
Did i state that IAF do not use Tanker support?
because they obviously do, just like Rafale.
My point was, Su-35S would need much less Tanker Support vs Rafale.
The Su-35S even have plumeting hardpoint for 2000L DT.
your point is irrelevant because it depends what the customer will use it for. Switzerland or Belarus may not even wonder about such a point.
Try and get your head around this cost effective issue, fuel cost is a bitch these days, and so is Tanker Support.
and its probably likely the Flanker series in general has less fuel efficient engines.
Such as in RF 2008?
Yeah, guess even the MKI can’t fly to US without Tanker support:rolleyes:
yes because that’s the only example you can think of.
They’ve employed it to France and as close as west bengal. duh.
Russia backs the ROK takeover of North Korea, because Russia wants to connect railway, gas pipe, and electrical grid with the ROK, but North Korea’s blocking it.
Wrong, North Korea has only 300 artillery pieces capable of reaching Seoul, and these would be neutralized in the matter of hours.
You mean the resumption of war. That incident does not trigger an automatic invasion of North Korea in the current war manual; the popular revolt and the transfer of North Korean nukes outside of North Korea does.
russia would not support ROKs take over but would do the take over themselves
here’s the russian plan of how they did it.

Raison will return to Russia very quickly and the inhabitants would probably get a better chance at life.
As long as their food supplies last.
North Korean soldiers are telling Southern TV reporters(You will be amazed what gets broadcast on Southern TV nowadays thanks to widespread cellphones) that they were getting the full amount of rations they were supposed to be getting so their lives were better and hoped that this max alert condition would last forever. Before the alert, they were getting half that.
The new leader was schooled in Europe and speaks four languages.

No translator needed.Sure.
Kim Jonggers thought that was Barack Obama.
why no MiG35??
why on earth should they bother with the MiG-35?
1. no user base
2. unproven
3. bad history with MiG as it is
Su-35 is an amazing machine: http://www.knaapo.ru/eng/products/su-35/index.wbp
So is Rafale!
It will depend on the tactics of each team, the level of training, and the supporting assets (AWACS, tankers, etc).
Also it will depend on what missiles they got. Rafale with Meteor would be a dangerous opponent for anybody!
so far the general arguements by fanboys in the rafale thread have been:
Pro Rafale =
more sensors
better avionics
lower life costs
Pro Su-35 –
bigger radar and that trumps any sensor advantage Rafale has.
Cost effective in what way?
Hope not you mean all the Tankers that have to follow Rafale..
See Libya for clues..Su-35S would be much less depended on Tanker support. And thrust me, Tanker support cost a lot!
are you so sure about that? Indians bring their tankers for their MKIs in many other events.
