Hi,
Did anybody go to the show at southport today 23rd september, what flew today? did the hunter make a proper job of it, did the A26 invader and two spitfires from duxford attend did the dakota of the bbmf fly ?
Regards
As I understand it the ‘blue diamonds’ Hunter was a stand in for the SHF one – probably lucky to see what we did (Sunday and Saturday).
The A26 also performed on Sunday – nothing spectacular but a real thrill none the less.
No BBMF (crosswind at Conningsby?) or Vampire, but very nice displays again from PT462 and the SHF Mustang. Also worth noting was a solo Guinot display.

PS. it didn’t rain – phew!
A-26 isn’t it? I’d have another look to be sure but that cheeky chappy in the front has put me off. 🙂
Iain I’ve just seen your Spit film and was blown away by it!! The quality of sound with the Merlin and William Waltons Spitfire Prelude brought a lump to my throat, so Iain thank you very much and be rest asured I’ll be playing it over again for a long time to come.
There aren’t many videos that i find myself watching again and again when its finished, but this is certainly one of them. The audio suffers a lot on youtube – for a real spine tingling experience it takes a decent set of speakers and a copy of the DVD 😀
The Biggin DVD is out, see here – http://planestv.com/shop/products/128D.htm
The other youtube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A33ThFYEZNs) includes a bit of in-cockpit footage – must say a big thank you to those at kent spitfire for allowing us to fit the camera – a great view of a lovely display.
Cheers
Iain
Thanks for the comments chaps. Lotus see PM 🙂
It is a lovely aircraft, very nice looking die-cast too. I recently finished a video of the Kent Spitfire for the Biggin DVD. Youtube doesn’t do it justice of course …
Iain
PS. there’s a separate soundtrack on the DVD which is pure Merlin 😉
Just slow speed taxing for 724 – I’ve put a couple of video clips of the event on the planestv site (hope I’m not out of line linking to the page):
The page includes a couple of interview video clips of Brian Carroll who taxied the aircraft on Sunday.
Binbrook today!
Hi guys – first post here. Spent the afternoon up at Binbrook, glad to see this thread lasted long enough for me to post these –
A few pics of XR724 at Binbrook today on the apron for an engine run.
