Now it’s time to see some of the equipment they use here at Schiphol Amsterdam. If the tower runs full operation during an outbound or inbound peak there is room for nine controllers, now there were five controllers so it was not that busy. I expected some highly focused people but really they are quite relaxed and enjoy their job (altough that’s how it looked like).

This is how a ”working desk” looks like. On the left side of the screen there is a weather panel wich I will have a close-up from later. On the right side of the radar screen (wich speaks for it self) there is an overview of the runways here at Schiphol.
The runways in use are highlighted, on the left of that there are a couple of black bars reffering to the runway and the wind direction+speeds.

I used the flash here because otherwise the picture was all out of focus. The picture sucks because of the flash but you can see a part of the screen otherwise you would not see anything. Black reffering to the apron and taxiways. The label of the airplanes are displaying some information about the a/c type, callsign and wich departure rwy+SID or gate to taxi to.

On this screen you can see some more information about runway and the weather. All is described on the screen no explanation needed.

I don’t think the WB on Olympus cams is linked to the AUTO function. Otherwise I will have some more useless pics in my database wich is not the case I just looked back.

When I shoot Manual the only thing I can adjust is shutterspeed/F number and the ISO. I’ve been making photo’s since I was fifteen years old with this camera and never had this problem even when shooting in auto mode.

Hi there. For Equipment I use a Olympus E-500 with in this serie a 70-300 f4-5.6 lens. Maybe it’s a Idea to install this program. Here you can see ALL the info of a photo: http://www.opanda.com/en/iexif/
It’s free of charge and it’s really a handy program. For editing I used Adobe Lightroom, with that I changed the temp of the photo’s shown here. I found it rather strange because my other photo’s from Amsterdam and other spots are not yellow tinted…

In the last couple of pics the weather was really not working for my equipment when the light is gone you can notice she’s having a hard time.

uuuuhhhh…. The size is the whole meaning I posted them….
Offcourse I can resize them I always do, but if I want to show you how lardge a Triple 7 or A380 is as far like 10nm I think these dimmensions are more pleasent to watch. With 1024*… it’s offcourse better but this gives just a little more feeling. Like I said before, next time there will be no more big sizes posted just the link to the album.
