…US do exploiting those illigals …[/B]

The reason they get low paying jobs is because they are here illegally.
If they come in legally, they can get high paying jobs…My doctor is Indian, my English wife is a nurse…both make very good money.
But if you come in illegally, then the only people that will hire them are people who will exploit them.

Do you really want South American counties to have Nukes?
And why would they want them?

The governments are historically not very stable.
The next time there is a “Soccer War” do you really want them reaching for the button?

Brazil`s economi is the world`s 9th largets in GDP and Mexico 13th the purchasing power of Mexico is larger than India or China, Brazil is also wealthier than India China or Pakistan however China india or Paksitan can defeat any latin american air force in minutes, the reality the US wants to be the only hegemon in the area however for Latin America leaving the defense resposablities to an Ally that can invade you or simply if falls will leave latin america vulnerable is a big Mistake of latin American Military planers, t
hing that Brazil wants to rectify and become the latin American leader.

Gee, I didn’t know things were so great south of the border...I’ll tell that to the 37 illegals from Mexico and Brazil that were found a couple of weeks ago in the back of a lorry after they paid someone their life savings to smuggle them into America so they could take lowpaying jobs. 🙂

And if the U.S. really wanted to keep Latin American counties weak, then how does it prevent China, France, Isreal and Russia from selling them arms? To the best of my knowledge, they don’t.

I don’t think the U.S. plans to invade Mexico anytime soon.
Rather, the U.S. reluctance to sell high tech & high cost hardware is the fact that most counties are so poor, they should be spending their money elsewhere. These counties have no need to arm themselves to the teeth with expoensive weapons, when their economies are so poor that many of their citizens have no choice but to try and illegally immigrate to other countries.
Obviously, Russia and France will take cash wherever they can…though they have some standards too.

The Phantom looks like the EX-NY ANG ABDR ship from Woodbridge…
    I’m I right.
They also had a F-101B there. Anyone know what happened to that?

It looks like a Pietenpol Air Camper…an American homebuilt design from the early 1930s. It was designed to be poweder by a modified Ford auto engine and I believe plans were available at the time. Whether any were built in the U.K. I don’t know, but it’s a possibility.

Take a look at the plane on the EAA website..

    Hope this helps

    Happy birthday!
What’s the the rather natty yellow floatplane?
    Cheers
    Alistair

It’s an Air Tractor, AG plane with floats. In various parts of the world they’re used to fight brush fires.

I agree, however in general useage, a hull aircraft without any built in landing gear is called a flying boat. In several of my books, the straight PBY is called a flying boat, while the PBY-5A is called an amphibian.
    Great Comeback!!! 🙂

    David, John,
In my first post about the 24, their was a group of people who were willing to step in and buy the 24 from the USAF and also pay for the fiberglass Copy for both Lackland and Duxford.
    So lets move on OK
    Cheers Crazymainer

Crazymainer…I know woy have the best interest oif the B-24 at heart…please don’t take anything I said as a personal attack. 🙂
Just a quick note….having seen the Liberator at Duxford and the fiberglass copy at Lackland, as nice as the fiberglass plane is …you would not want it at Duxford…where knowledgeable people can get up close. The plastic P-51 is mounted up high…and I could tell the difference but I’m betting your average visitor couldn’t.

    CNN is reporting a TU-134 with 42 aboard and a TU-154 with 52 aboard.
And they’re suspecting terrorism. If true, ex-KGB’er Putin won’t take this laying down.

Believe it or not we do get veterans from the U.S visiting Duxford so I think they would know the difference. It’s certainly possible to get very close to her but she isn’t a climbing frame!
The point is that she was destined to remain on outside display at Lackland for a long time. I believe that to bring her indoors ,spend large sums
of money on her and give her along term future can only be seen as beneficial.

Agree…The Liberator is where she needs to be. And it’s in a condition that is a tribute to all who flew B-24s from the U.K. and never returned.
It’s far better than being neglected at Lackland. True it would be better still to have her flying in the U.K. but that was never going to happen as long as she was USAF property. And two flying Liberators is the U.S. is sufficent…. both planes tour a great deal so lots of vets (and public) get a chance to see them (also there are B-24s reasonably spread across the country…CA, AZ, FL, OH).

This same article was the basis of a post a couple of weks ago…perhaps on the :”General Discussion” board….so I’ll repeat here what I said there..

“You mean Duke Ellington didn’t defeat the French at Waterloo?”
I’ll wait for the laughter to subside…:)

I’m not knocking the atheletes they do great stuff, but ever wonder how they invented some of those routines? “Hey, lets have a guy wrap himself aound non-even bars”. Swimming and running are straightforward, but some gymnastics seem masochistic. 🙂
