What does Georgia have to do with Libya? The situations are not even remotely comparable.
Also let’s not equate a television station with all of Russia.
Well Russia has been saying that there is no reason
why we should be going into libya and that innocent civillians are dying,
well that does sound heck of a lot like what happened in georgia, dosent it?
Typhoon isn’t cleared, as of yet, for Storm Shadow cruise missiles. RAF Typhoons are being deployed as of today. Sky News is reporting them leaving live this afternoon from RAF Coningsby in full air defence missile fit.
RAF Typhoons are cleared for a number of air to ground munitions, but I think that they will only be deployed to fly air defence profiles.

Yep thats correct, currently only paveway IIs and 500 lb dumb bombs are the only cleared Air 2 Ground muntions that the RAF typhoons can use.
Watching sky news a minute a go i saw a video of an italian air base with loads of trucks carrying gbu-31s about to be loaded ont f-18s, i think i counted 8 trucks each carrying four of the jdams.
Im getting this info hot off BBC and Sky news, so im pretty sure that more people are watching the news than on a plane forum on the internet.
Blasts have just been heard in Eastern Tripoli.
Pentagon just stated :”114 tomahawks have been fired by us and britain.”
This sounds good; http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/mar/08/un-no-fly-zone-nato-libya
After all it costs to operate several different types of a/c. The UK could save money by scrapping all Typhoons and use F-35 only.
It may save money but it would mean there would only be 1 type of a/c in service.
Could i quckly ask, what is the diffrence between the T3A and T3B?
F-35 is a fast jet isn’t it ?
And yes the f-35 is a fast jet
Ah, so if the need ever arises to destroy a hardend compound or drop a lot of ardanonce it could be used?
Update:
Just found these interesting pics:http://typhoon.starstreak.net/Eurofighter/weapons-fit.html scroll down and youll see a RAF typhoon carrying two paveway iii’s and two paveway ii’.
Quick question: Will the Raf Typhoons carry UK Paveway III ‘s?
Enhanced Paveway III will cntinue on the Typhoon and F-35 (Probably) together with the Paveway IV.
I didnt think that the paveway III was to be intergrated on the typhoon, do you have any evidence?
Also is it true that the in service date for the F-35C has now slipped to 2020?, because if so that is quite late.
Just playing with the capability of the RAF following the recent defence cuts; how capable is the RAF of enforcing a no-fly-zone?
Akrotiri is about 990 nautical miles from Tripoli and about 660 nautical miles from Benghazi so could the RAF enforce an effective no-fly-zone using Typhoon and Sentry with tanker support?
Right now? no
In a few years time? Yes
The normal paveway III cant be guided by GPS but hte enhanced version can.
