R.Weaver, may I suggest before setting of to complete your CPL you attend a CRM course. This might open your eyes as the way you are putting yourself across to others.;)
Or at least stop murdering the ruddy English language !!!! , can they test for dyslexia these days ????;) . I can’t make any sense of his post content .
I’m considering building one too , better watching Daz making mistakes than making my own 😉

Oh!Terrible memories of that bit twixt Glasgow and Edinburgh.
That day it rained and it rained and it rained. I was soaked from head to foot after the first ten minutes and had about eighty miles to complete.Horrid. (I’m sure it’s not like that all the time 😉 )

Unfortunately it is , ****ing rain , NO aeroplanes ( unless you the self loading cargo aluminium tuge type ) and the forecast is more bloody rain.
I think I’m next on the list after AJ , I have also bought another camera and will start this one off too . 🙂
Great photos Eddie , any more ???:)
Wys , any chance of some info on your old Moni – never seen one before , its a sleek looking wee thing – very nice .:)

Ah!, can beat you both on that score! My screen measures 32 feet by 16, with full surround sound:D Why did you get a plasma when you can get much more compact installation and bigger picture with a video projector (and a good screen)? Plasmas have always been very heavy; nice toy though.R Weaver: Hang gliders, great fun, minimal regulation and reversed inputs when compared with ‘conventional’ aircraft. Flying costs that can’t be beaten. I did an EPC (Elementary Pilots Certificate) a few years ago in Wiltshire.
The only microlight I have flown was an AMF Chevron, fun on 450cc just a motor glider really. It wouldn’t stall or spin.
Now that is what I call home theatre !!
I’ve had a blat on an ex-Police Commander , smooth as hell and very torquey – very impressive – , wouldn’t mind a go on one of the JPS replicas , they look very nice and did well in the hands of Hizzy and Spray . Very nice.:)

I have to get my kicks from motorbikes these days…and my new 42″ plasma! 😀
Snap !!! , JVC 44″ with home theatre – fairly makes the house shake – and makes you ask how you used to manage with a TV that is 2ft thick stuck on a corner unit !! , unfortunately my biking days are almost over – this summer will be the last , after that everything is going up for sale 🙁
I have had a good read through this and it is a very comprehensive manual which covers the rigging of XA853 and XA856 , and in lesser detail all of the servicing requirements of XG307-310 . It is full of drawings , diagrams and specifications of everything from tyre pressures to paint codes . I would be very interested in any info about the above aeroplanes . At the rear of the book there is a list of Lightning AP’s from 2337 to 4483 , I would like to start collecting these – can anybody give me some hints on where to find any of them ???. If anybody wants any info from the book I can try to photocopy it and send on some prints , the binding is in poor condition so I intend to copy the whole manual before getting the binding replaced and a cover made for it . It really is an amazing book – and at least the money I spent on it is going to be spent getting a British built aeroplane back in the air .
Damien – check your PM’s , you can get me direct at

Got it !! , eventually . Amazing how many small airstrips you chaps have down there , unfortunately I live almost halfway between Edinburgh and Glasgow so air traffic rules out any local GA strips – although a farmer up near East Calder has applied for permission to build a strip/hangar on his land – Kirknewton is local but is still controlled by the RAF so that’s that ruled out .
I’ve just been looking through some of the older posts and read the one where you described pulling the Piper out of the hangar in the early morning then setting off for a bumble around the place – sounds absolutely perfect .
