Yes, some great pics on that site alright. But finding them can be tricky as there are a lot of mind-numbingly boring dross too though – it’s mostly record shots.

It’s also run by a bloke who hasn’t the faintest idea of how to deal with other human beings in a normal or reasonable manner – he’s driven off many of the biggest contributors to the site with his behaviour (e.g. thinks pictures with clothed women in them are “disgraceful”, yet allows pictures with topless women on the beach in the background to stay, and supported a conman and suspected child molester – since jailed for life – for several years). A real charmer!

Damien , the conman / suspect child molester isn’t ” The Guv ” is it , guy better hope he stays in jail , if he ever comes out , well .

Excellent bloke who is sadly missed , I met him at a charity Tractor Run , a true enthusiast for all mechanical things . I watched his first series recently – when he was famous just for bringing down brick chimneys – H&S would have a fit if you tried to do the same thing now . He was standing about 10ft from the chimney as it collapsed . Excellent TV – will anybody else make similar programmes ??. Doubt it .

Never get stressed , just say ” hey what the f*ck ” and get on with it . If that fails look for something stupid to do – and when it all goes wrong the last thing you are worried about is stress . 😉 . This has worked many, many times in the past .

    There goes your reputation level;)

Is that me back down with you guys ??? 😡 , I’d rather be here than up with the self-important twits who base their lives standings on a damn reputation score ( what is mine anyway ??? ) :dev2:

Not much point – its all been done before.
And if you are going to point fingers then have the courage of your own convictions and name names. Referring to ‘a certain person’ in such a manner is akin to poking your tongue out behind their back. Why not wave ‘V’ signs too, while you are at it?
It was me he was referring to, everybody: I asked a question but it was never really answered… Actually it was quite relevant to this trip: if Fossett lost his navigation computer for more than two hours would he have been able to continue?

    Flood

For goodness sakes Flood , are you paranoid ?? , I’ve been on this board since the start – nearly six years ago , and honestly think you just go out of your way to irritate people . Go away , calm down and come back when you are sensible again .
Of course he didn’t lose the navigation computer – it was bolted to the panel right by his right elbow , all he lost was the GPS feed for a short time .

Not the word that first springs to mind…

If the Melvin flies the Rearwin it’s gonna be close to the MTOW , will he be able to carry enough fuel for a test flight ?? , bet SR Patterson could carry a few more gallons. 😀

Of all these partwork type things the only ones worth going for IMHO are the Hachette ones. They did the Titanic & are now on the Fokker DR/1. The quality of the parts are fantastic & from what i have of the Fokker, alot better than the Hasegawa kit from 20 odd years ago. I did collect the H.M.S Victory that was done by Del Prado, all that can be said is AWFUL in every way.
With regards to the Spitfire, the fact that it’s not very accurate looking puts me off straight away. I’d rather save a little longer & get the Mick Reeves MkIX. Though his Hunter is extremely tempting.

I have to confess to buying the Hachette Fokker DR1 , I’m on issue 57 at present but the issue 33 I got had no parts in it – so I’m stuck with a half built fuselage until they can send me a back issue !! .

How are you doing Jelle , you’ve been quiet recently !! . If we organise another Meet-up how do you fancy coming over ?? . I’ll start another thread as KeithMac had the idea of hiring a minibus and heading over to your neck of the woods via the Rosyth ferry .

Thank you very much, it is the Shuttleworth Collections TED 20, 12v petrol/paraffin variant, the stalwart of the aircraft movement fleet, after the volunteers!!
It is no longer a single seater any more as it is quite precarious balencing three people on the implement gear at the back, so a very clever volunteer constructed a large comfortable settee for the ‘passengers’. This makes moving people to recover rotary engined aircraft much easier but does have an effect on the CofG!!!!
If you meet up with us at OW on the 20th then I can show you around before we leave.

I have 2 seats bolted into a Ferguson dump skip , very handy if we go fishing down the Clyde – crash through any hedge !!
