Nice shots mate.
A330 – were probably taken around the crossing/industrial units bit if they were on 27R as posted, think Myrtle is on 27L isn’t it?
Thanks again,
Wingflaps2 – pretty neat to have the number of posts, although I’d have preferred 330! 🙂
WOW, thanks guys!
Got to go work tomorrow, so I’ll probably have a few more drinks at the weekend 😀
Be silly to go for anything other than the A345/6 in my opinion, a small airline like that needS fleet commonality.
I do feel the PR of “4 engine 4 longhaul” is a stupid idea though. Surely one day VS will need something a bit smaller. OK they can fill 744’s and A346’s on their current routes as the demand is high, but as they grow they will have to start flying tO places where the demand isn’t quite as good and where something like an A330 or 777 would be better suited.
Even BA operate mainly 777’s across the Atlantic and they have a lot of connecting traffic at LHR, more than VS surely.
Thanks for the comments guys!
EGNM – Sounds like a great upgrade getting the 737 BBJ for the ATR-42, but always seems to happen with the passengers who would appreciate it least, don’t suppose football fans would be bothered either way!
You only have to look at my uasername to see which I’d go for, I’m desperate to fly on the A330!
Also the inflight entertainment is important on longhaul flights for me and Qatar seem to have some pretty good stuff!
Probably right about the Ryanair.
I love the Gulf Air, that was the main one I was hoping to see yesterday but it never arrived 🙁
Finally the Flybe that made an emergency landing that Jay mentioned, kept the gear up for a long time and stopped on the runway to be towed to the apron.
Will probably post a couple more over next few days, wait till they’re on a.net as I can’t be bothered to re-size and fiddle about with the file size right now!
Couple from Luton:
Privatair 737 BBJ, if we’d have mae one more wrong turn we would have missed it!
Virgin 744 G-VXLG
Egyptair 777 – nice colours!
OK, heres a few of mine, I’ll use the a.net images as they’re already re-sized and compressed enough to be below limit.
This might be the A310 your thinking of, Uzbekistan:
Great pics!
For some reason the Ryanair does look as if its taken while its cold, can’t pinpoint why exactly. Probably cause it looks pin sharp!
AMS sounds excellent, there are loads of low cost flights from about everywhere so I would think a lot of people can make it.
I’m over on the 2 September, bit too soon though I think.
Nice pics Kev!
All in all a very nice day! Nice weather, some good aircraft and of course good company.
Just having a quick flick through the pics and theres some that are OK, some of the earlier ones we took around the crossing are showing quite a bit of haze though, the appraoch shots are good we got at Myrtle. I’ll post a few in a couple of days when I’ve sorted them out.
Luton wasn’t bad, we were only there for about an hour or so but was quite eventful, saw a Privatair 737-700 BBJ with winglets, taxiied on to the runway as we arrived so nearly missed it! With the emergency (Jason mentioned) it was quite an eventful hour really.
Good to have met you all anyway!
