RE: A little help please 🙂
I’ve got a pretty good idea that they were taken from the Pink Elephant car park. There was a big discussion about it when Travolta was due in, but I think its very expensive and minimum stay was something like 14 days.
Nice spot though, two of only few shots I’ve ever seen at LHR where aircraft look close, they usually always look so distant.
RE: Gemini MD-11F question…………
I would guess it would be a technical fault, but can’t be sure.
I’ll be at EMA this afternoon, I’ll see if its still there.
RE: Heathrow Visitors center.
The parking bit you’ve marked on the map, is that runway 09L? I think I’ve been there once. Problem is that I quite like the Queens building for views or photos so I need somwhere to park the car (cheaply) and then have easy access to transport to the center of LHR. LHR is the best airport for aircraft, but its too damn expensive, MAN costs nothing but petrol with fantastic views!
Train? Coming from Leicester it would probably cost a fortune, need to change to underground and therefore take quite a while too! Plus you lose the flexibilty of a car.
RE: Heathrow Visitors center.
On the subject of parking around Heathrow. I thought I read somewhere (on the net) that a good place to park was Hatton Cross Tube station, and then catch the tube to LHR.
Does anyone know where this is?
RE: Help Wanted Please
Rene – Thanks for that addition. I got your form you filled out and I’ll add the airline now and your name to the front page when I create it, prob the weekend.
Name on the thank you bit goes to everyone whos helped.
Thanks again.
RE: Help Wanted Please
Whats the new MyTravel Lite going to use? Anyone know the callsign, codes etc?
thanks again
RE: PTV’s on narrow-bodies
Sounds good to me, definately think this is the way to go. PTV’s are a one off payment, cost a lot at the start and then a little thereafter. I think most of the charters would benefit from them, market them as something to keep the kids happy, as 4-5 hour trips are a long time for kids with no entertainment.
RE: Amazing!
Congratulations! PPL training is great but can get to become a bit of hard work, lot of ground stuff to do also.
Andrew – are you learning the PPL is this country or going abroard? I’d seriously consider looking at both options, Florida is a great place to fly, cheaper, great weather and you can get it done in a few weeks.
Good luck with the training!
RE: Help Wanted Please
Thanks a lot to everyone again, I’ve just got to check what I’ve got / not got, could take a while!!
Thanks again
RE: Help Wanted Please
Thanks a lot Andrew!
RE: John T’s 707
Unless it gets changed again, I’ll be at LHR on Sunday, didn’t know whether I’d have anything planned Saturday night but haven’t now, so looks like I’ll be there Sunday. Certainly get some shots and they’ll be up on my website very soon!
RE: John T’s 707
Latest post on a.net says Sunday at 1900. Not decided whether I’m going yet.
RE: Help Wanted Please
Thanks for the list, just got to go through and see what I have and what I don’t!
RE: John T’s 707
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 13-08-02 AT 05:18Â PM (GMT)]Still can’t find out for sure when it will be at LHR, will post as soon as I hear.
If anyone has more info then let me know, I’ve got to book a day off to get down there!
RE: East Midlands Airport
In that case, no problem. From the terminal turn right towards the hangars and DHL areas. You will go past the BMI hangars which also cater for third party 737’s so there may be something interesting around, check there first. Then carry in walking past the DHL centre. Once past there you’ll come to some traffic lights and need to turn right, after doing so Donington Park will be on the left. Carry on walking and you will pass under the landing lights, if you walk up the hill you will be at the spot I got the VS 346 from. If you carry on a bit further past the aeropark there will be a pub on the right (Nags Head) and walking to the top of here theres another good photo spot, but the light is better in the evening.
When you thinking of going to EMA?
