RE: John T’s 707
T5 – How do you know it will be at LHR Thursday? Is this definate?
A guy on airliners.net says it will be at FRA on Thursday.
I’m kinda hoping it will be there on SAT so I don’t have to have the day off if I want to see it!
RE: East Midlands Airport
The spot where my Virgin A340 was taken from (posted here recently) is at the end of the 09 end of the runway, but it would be a long walk from the terminal. There aren’t really any within easy walking distance, you’d need either a car or to catch a bus. I can’t give specific bus details but I think there is one that runs past Castle Donington, there are some photo spots round here but the light is better in the evening.
Take a look here for more info

RE: Glasgow Airport
Lets see some of the pics
PS You sure the Balkan Holidays wasn’t a TU-154 in those “wacky colours”
RE: Flaps
hey Greekdude – I probably got yours as I received two 🙂
Don’t know why that was.
RE: Pic of the day-one after another!
Definately Manchester, end of December last year I bet!
I was at MAN on the same day for the snow, I went over to the new runway but it was closed!!!! Got back and e-mailled Chris who showed me a few of these pics, I didn’t know of the photo spot at the time!
I ended up taking about 7 very poor photos before going home, not a good day for me, Chris had a better one though.
RE: BA B747 ‘City of Oxford’
Hey brings back memories. I can remember walking down the North Terminal at Gatwick and all we could see were DC-10’s. I had a phopbia about DC-10’s at the time and was praying it wasn’t a DC-10 we were getting on!
RE: BA B747 ‘City of Oxford’
EAL have bought the City of Oxford from BA.
Interestingly this was the first ever 747 I flew on! We flew Gatwick to Orlando about 1994, although looking a bit taty on the outside it was quite a nice flight.
RE: Cockpit quiz
A319’s don’t operate with yokes!
To be honest, looking at the picture above I don’t think you’d really be able to tell the difference between a 319, 320 and 321, as they are all very, very similar (commonality).
Is this correct or have I got it wrong, anyone know the diffrences between the three cockpits (and the one for the 318 for that matter).
RE: A340-600’s
While they only have one it will only be flying to JFK and EWR (Newark). It will replace the usual 300 on this route just in case there is a problem early on. Once they get two or three I heard they would be on Tokyo, Hong Kong and possibly Jo’burg by next year, never heard anything about them being used to India.
I think Cathay Pacific will be one of the other airlines to receive the 600 soon.
RE: Quiz time.
If Saab is correct then it can’t be as Transavia only operate short haul, usually charters (certainly don’t fly to Japan).
RE: Quiz time.
Whats the deal with the top one? Is it celebrating something with all the flags in? Is it still around now or was it a past colour scheme.
Can’t remember seeing anything like that anywhere thats all.
RE: What are your plans?
I just work in a warehouse picking and packing at the mo. Only way we heard of it was because we have the radio on, otherwise we wouldn’t have a clue.
It surprised me how people reacted, I don’t think they relised the scale of it. Having been on top of them two years earlier it was probably more apparent to me exactly what it meant for these two huge towers to callapse and the destruction it would cause.
Probably the same about your school.
RE: What are your plans?
No plans really from normal.
I know what you mean about your school, at work last year we were all obviously taliking about it, all the info we had was the radio, but we kept being told to shut up and wasn’t able to say anything. Don’t know if they realised how big it was but it was very insensitive.
RE: farnbrough A345 & A318
A318
Air China 8
Air France 15
America West 15
British Airways 6
CIT 4
Egyptair 5
Frontier 5
GECAS 30
ILFS 20
Total 108
From Airbus website, correct up to 30 June.
The A340 orders / deliveries aren’t split between series, but I think Emirates has 6 on order, don’t know about any others.
RE: Pic Of the Day- take off shot
Just spent a fortune on a Canon D30 (Second hand) and a new 75-300 Image stabilizer lens, its starting to pay off now though as the quality is great!
