RE: Airport pic of the day-26/02/02

I went to the airport in July last year and it is indeed very busy and very big. The picture here shows just about a third of the entire airport. The new bit around the back is huge and all airbridges.

Also, in the picture above, is that an A340 in the distance? Looks like a corporate middle east livery.

I go for Palma too. Majorca is very hilly on one side!

Main reasons are the aircraft in the photo, Air Europa Express and AeBal 717, I think they only operate around the Balearics and mainland Spain.

The Fokker is a nice plane although its a bit noisy towards the back.
The front is very quiet though, a very good aircraft.

The URL won’t work as it will redirect to:
    http://www.keymags.co.uk/dcforum/DCForumID3/newsletter@bizzair.co.uk
    which is obviously wrong.

The link needs to be written differently as it is an e-mail address not a web page.

    This should work
    mailto:newsletter@bizzair.co.uk

RE: Virgin ‘to order Airbus jets’

There was a bit in todays Mirror. Apparently Airbus will help them pay for the aircraft and Virgin plan to sell them and lease them back, which will work out cheaper in the short term.

I’m very glad they have kept with the order, they can finally get rid of those old 747 classics and we can hopefully see something new on the Manchester – Orlando flight!

The D-CALP is most probably a pre-delivery reg, I agree with what was said above, its now OE-LKE.

OE-LKD is old, not new as it was in the 2000 ‘airlines’ but as you say, not 2001.

RE: Manchester Flights – help with a/c type

I forgot about the 738’s, but I doubt whether these will be used to Manchester. I was at Manchester on Saturday and the only other aircraft operating a Britannia flight was the Prime A300 which is usually at East Midlands, it could be this that you go on :(.

There are lots of photos at http://www.airliners.net

It looks amazing how low the aircraft are and I’d love to visit the island some day.

RE: Boeing 737 – Is it time to move on?

Its probably boring because its been around so long.

    Will they stop it?

Well, as long as it continues to sell well with the airlines then they won’t even think about stoping production. It would be very interesting to see what Boeing could come up with as far as a replacement is concerned though.

RE: 800 People just miss death

The media always seem to blow these things out of all proportion.

Both jets had the TCAS system, so there was never going to be a collision.
The media like to hype it up and make a big story out of nothing.

I will be very surprised if its not a 757-200, I’ve seen 767’s at Lanzarote in the summer but I doubt a winter flight will be one.

Where are you staying in Lanzarote? There is a great beach that runs right around the end of the runway, the planes fly very low over your head. You can also walk around the other side and get some good views of the runway.

Also, a school trip to Lanzarote, the furthest I ever got on a school trip was Wales!

    RE: Heathrow Question

I suppose your talking about the ‘3rd’ runway.

This is runway 23, can only be used from one side and is only used for landing when there is a very strong crosswind. It was used a couple of weeks ago when we had that dodgy weather.
As far as I hear its only used about once or twice a year.

Only other info I have is the length: 6450ft (1966m), not very long!

    RE: Website advice needed!!

If you haven’t got to actually build the website writing the HTML yourself then my advice would be to use some sort of program which can do it for you. As mentioned above theres dreamweaver, you can get a lot of other programs like this, have a look around your local PC World, there will be a lot of packages.
You used to be able to get AOL Press for free over the net but I’m not sure if its still available, a good program for simple HTML.

If you have to write it without the aid of a program then this is obviously a little more difficult. There are plenty of websites that contain tutorials for HTML if you do a search somewhere like google.
If you need any particular snippets of how to do certain things then I (and I’m sure others on the forum) can help you out a bit.

    RE: Publisher

How did you do with the timetables book.

I just found their web site:

    http://www.airtimepublishing.co.uk/

They have an order form which they request you post to them to receive the timetables.

    Hope it helps
