Only aircraft they have at the minute I think (atlantic wise) is 763 C-GZUM, which I got at MAN this morning :). The MAN flight today was the first one and its regular on Thursday.

For LGW, the flights in the timetables I have show:

    FRI 1750 ARR OOM410 Vancouver / Edmonton
    FRI 2100 DEP OOM511 Toronto
    TUE 2100 ARR OOM110 Vancouver / Edmonton

Obviously should be at least another one somewhere I can’t find! It does say in the front of the book that as it was closed the schedules were still to be confirmed so I don’t know how reliable these will be.
Looking at it though the times look about right for the Friday flight to be returning straight after the MAN flight and if they are right then it wouldn’t be able to get back from Vancouver on Saturday I wouldn’t think you will see it unless its delayed overnight.

Wow 400 iso, should get enough light on it.
Its probably their processing as you thought, have a go with the exposure though and see what you think, I always find my images are very dark in poor light without it.

    They all look good shots.
About the darkness, what film ISO are you using?
It looks a pretty dull day and you’d probably need something like 200, 100 if its nice and sunny.
If you are using 200 then you may like to try setting the exposure compensation up (by about 1/2 step). I have recently started doing this on mine and it does look better, but results may vary on cameras, something to try out and experiment with on dull days.

Don’t get disheartened, its one of your early photo shoots with the camera, it will take time and you’ll improve as you go on.

Kalitta are american, they were due to operate 5 times a week but I think its actually 3 they operate. Flight arrive from JFK and Chicago with a fleet of classic 747’s.

Nice shots, were they taken from the aeropark?

Also anyone who still has a copy of the Sunday Mirror, just gone then try to spot the difference with this shot and the one on the inside page, article about asylum seekers.

Again photographer knew nothing about it!

Whats the do with media agencies and pics from the net – do they just have to credit the photographer or pay him/her for the work?

Thats entirely up to the photographer, as you took the photo you hold the copyright.
A lot of the time it depends on what they use it for, a non commercial project and I’d usually give it for free as long as a credit is given, but any commercial project would have to pay a fee.

Just got a mail back and Aaron and he knows nothing about the picture being used, think you’ll agree its definately the shot I’ve posted below.

Interesting move, landing charges must be much higher at GLA, just hope baby don’t start doing a Ryanair with any other destinations though.

Also about the article, the pic is an a.net image by an EMA local Aaron Lupton, hope its been used with permission as I can’t see a credit! Hope the BBC are not following a certain Sunday newspaper in printing another a.net image without permission!

ORD was used when O’Hare was named something else, I think it was Orchard or something like that.
Same goes for MCO (Orlando) which used to be McCoy.

Don’t know about the others but they may have a similar explanation.

They keep the codes as it is a massive job to change them around the world.
JFK is the odd one out, that did change codes after the name change.

As a further point of interest MCO also suffers more from ‘PPL wants to play with the big boys’ syndrome

Interseting you mention that. It costs $15 (or did two years ago) to land at MCO which is about the same as Leicester Airport!
I think most use, I think its 18R where as the jets use 18L or the one over Terminal B side in the case of Delta, Virgin, Southwest etc. Should be fairly out the way here but I suppose may cause a few problems with the approach.

Got to stick up for MCO here. OK I haven’t got any figures but lets face it, the reason the charters fly in to SFB is the reason they do anything, because its cheaper.
Why else would charters move to an airport further away and the likes of BA, Virgin and all the other major US carriers stay at MCO?

As for the double baggage claim, it is a bit silly but on the second claim its kinda like collecting your hand luggage from the x-ray thing, you don’t usually have to wait long.

Everybody has their opinion but for me MCO always looks spotless, both inside and out with the water all around the airport, it just adds to the feel.

Maybe its because I like Florida so much that I like the airport, the first sights you see of the place are the airport afterall!

Been to EWR, LAX, SFO and LAX (although not flown from there), but I’d have to say MCO – Orlando Int’l

Wonderful airport they even have water features inside, just the best airport I’ve flown from.

Would think so, but they’ve also got the A321 that was in at MAN for the Champions League and a 735 in the 2003 Airlines.

    Thanks for the info,

I was at the observation deck a couple of years ago, great views but ot so good for action photography, I prefer to be near the runway.
