RE: is there a market for the 747x, is this design too old now ?

The 747X comments have been answered today!

Back to BA,. don’t like them at all, don’t like any airline where you get told off for pressing the cabin crew button to get a drink!
FLY VIRGIN, great in-flight entertainment, service and well everything.

Is this new aircraft a bit of a gamble on Boeings part?
I agree with the previous post that the seats will have to be aimed at the first or business class market. We’ve seen a previous attempt at a high speed aircraft in Concorde which only sold 14 aircraft to 2 customers, possibly due to the fact the aircraft would cost more than a 747 for the same flight yet carry only 100 passengers. Although the new aircraft won’t go as fast or cost as much, surely there will still be similar problems and the aircraft will only be able to operate on the business routes such as LHR-JFK. I can’t see a massive market for this type of aircraft.
    what do you all think?

PS Can’t wait for the A380

    RE: Ugliest Aircraft?

The best looking aircraft in my opinion has to be the A330-300.
I did a poll on the best looking aircraft type (big jets) on my web site, 747 and 777 were joint winners followed closely by the MD-11.

Agree with the point about Airtours. Flew 4 flights (including there and back) and had a 6 hour and 11 hour delay (eventually flying out on Britannia) and an unscheduled stop in Nantes on one of their old MD-83’s. Best meals though.

Air 2000 probably favourite, never had much trouble with Britannia.
Away from the UK and Air Malta aren’t too bad, always on time but a lack of entertainment.

A note about the older Air 2000 757’s. They’ve just ordered 8 new aircraft with the new 777 style interior and RR engines.

There is a good program called no more underlining. Very easy to use, search etc. Costs about £20 initailly and then you can get regular updates as well. The web site is:
    http://www.bravomike.demon.co.uk/
Found out about this at the Aviation Enthusiasts Fair at East Midlands last year. This years event is on Sunday (1 April), if your not far away pay a visit, there were demos of quite a few programs.
