Nice one Andrew looking good!
Nice video, it looks good!
Thanks for posting mate.
As EGNM said they aren’t really that old.
All aircraft need repainting over a certain period of time and I’ve heard that both Monarch and MyTravel are only repainting when they are needed, so at the end of the day it could be next week or a few years!
I would love to see an A330 in the MYT scheme, lets hope it does happen!
Great pic, Sam Chui certainly is a great photographer!
I met him at MAN on good Friday, there were about 6 a.net guys there that day. Nice guy too. He’d flown in from New York on Concorde (lucky sod), certainly travels a lot!
Congratulations Andrew!
Looking forward to seeing more of your pictures on there and then the next goal is airliners.net!
Don’t have an answer as to WHY they have two codes, but the second, four letter one is used as flight planning by pilots etc.
Can’t give you a full list but off the top of my head:
EGLL – LHR
EGKK – LGW
EGCC – MAN
EGBB – BHX
EGNX – EMA
Think
EGNN – NCL?
EGSS – STN?
Just a short term thing due to the war, but regular flights expected in the short term.
I think they arrive from Kuwait, last I heard they were very regular (maybe even daily), but it isn’t a service that is likely to continue for too much longer.
Don’t know really but I assume that some are more efficient, while others are more reliable and some probably cost more than others, get better repair deals etc.
Obviously commonality is a factor, Cathay pretty much use all RR.
Don’t know why the differences with each aircraft, as you say RB211 for 757 and others (that compete with RB211) for other aircraft. I remember reading somewhere that an RR engine (maybe RB 211 could have been trent) was more reliable but less efficient than the competition. As the 744 has 4 engines maybe this is a bigger saving than a 757, which explains why they are more popluar than the RB211 on the 744 and not so on the 757.
Would obviously like to see them fly the A330, but I would think the 767 would be more likely.
I think the main problem with this may be the range, 330 beats it range wise by a long way I think, don’t know whether it could do some of the longer segments in the BY network?
I haven’t got fond memories of them either!
Flew once (well twice, you know what I mean) EMA-ACE-EMA.
EMA-ACE
The aircraft landed late, then they had to change the tyre!
6 hour delay.
ACE-EMA
Don’t know how true this was but because the ACE runway is quite short we couldn’t take on full fuel, so had to stop in Nantes to re-fuel due to strong head winds.
This time it was an A321 and no delays whatsoever, I’m glad they are gone!
Great news and great to see a US carrier ordering more from Airbus.
Just one question:
The French PM was in China to sign an oder a 50 Airbuses for several chinese airlines.
What the hell has the french PM got to do with anything? Shouldn’t it be some high ranking Airbus employee signing a deal?
Yeah, forgot about that!
I’ll just get on a MYL flight to AMS for the day instead, be cheaper!
Thanks again Andrew.
This is why I prefer MAN, spots right next to the runway, very easy to park and no bother at all!
Heres your aircraft.
Sorry couldn’t resist a little plug! 😀
Thanks again Andrew.
I’ve been to the area 3, but there was a lot of building stuff for T5 last time, is it still possible to get views?
Just one more question about the Esso garage. Is it possible to get pics without the fence? Is it easy to park? And finally, am I likely to get turfed of?
Mark, thanks for letting me know about that, may have a look but the last one at EMA was a little disappointing.
