No photography is allowed on the Airbus site. When you arrive all cameras and bags must be left at reception before the tour starts.
I too remember seeing the Duxford Varsity flying back in the late 70’s. I remember it doing either a touch and go or a low pass at Old Warden one day when I was there. Can anybody confirm if it was an actual touch or just a flyby. It was probably about 1980 although not exactly sure of the exact year.
Didn’t it also get damaged in strong winds at Duxford whilst outside and hasn’t flown since.
There is a small section of fuselage at the Museum of Berkshire Aviation at Woodley but sadly that’s all there is.
Nice pictures. What is the 9th picture – Red fuselage outside next to the Comet nose.
Great pictures especially the air to air ones. Thanks for sharing.
I went to Hullavington today. A good day despite the showers with still a few interesting visitors. Just think what it could have been with good weather.
Thanks again.
I was at the Science Museum three weeks ago using a tripod. I didn’t encounter any problems. Even one of the guides came over and started talking about digital cameras etc.
There are no signs as such (Not that I saw anyway) and nobody else challenged me. Later in the day I also went to the Imperial War Museum where tripods are definetly not allowed but it was quite light so not really needed.
I have some pictures from the Science Museum if anybody wants to see.
Best regards
I agree. It looks as if the White balance is selected on the wrong setting. I think on Sports Mode it is set to AWB (Auto) but on any of the manual settings retains the last used setting. Make sure it is not set to indoor lighting or something similar. The camera shouldn’t make it this far out if it was on auto.
Hope this helps.
I believe it is to be used for the Minardi F1 work as a replacement for G-GPFI which I understand is going to Oz Jet in Australia. Why bother to use an out of sequence registration if it is only to be used for spares.
G-FIGP = Formula One Grand Prix
G-FIGP departed Prestwick this afternoon as EAF9723 destination Bournemouth for European Aviation.

The B767 at Filton is VP-CME c/n 22567/231 ex TWA N604TW and is based there.
I don’t think FlyBe are taking the two ex Turkish RJ100’s as G-JEBV/W I believe they have returned them and flew from Exeter to Kemble recently for storage.

I called in there last Saturday. 1st time this year. It’s good to see the Sea Vixen being worked on. The Canberra looks superb now since my last visit. Even the tyres on the Canberra had been blacked.
Keep up the good work everybody.
I am coming up to PIK for the day on Ryanair next Wednesday 4th May. Anybody going to be around. It would be good to meet some of the locals.

I would say it was Kemble and they look like the Delta Jets hangars in the background. I may be wrong ? It loos like WV318/G-FFOX which is based at Kemble I believe.
Any other offers ?
