Kemble pictures 12 Sep 2004
The weather wasn’t particularly kind for much flying or visitors with some heavy showers at times and strong winds. It did allow for a good look round the hangars though.
I don’t know if it has been answered on here before but does anybody know the identity of the Hunter in the first picture. It is a two seater but has had an old wing from G-PSST fitted. Alongside is a tail section in the same colours as G-PSST that has been changed at some time.
In the first picture of EI-CJG taking off whats the fuselage dumped in the background oppsite the Jaguar B732

Nice pictures everybody. I wasn’t able to get there this time as I was working but have been several times in the past and it is an excellent day out.
A friend sent me some pictures of the BOAC Comet model and I wasn’t convinced. I thought it was a screenshot from Flight Sim but having seen it again it is absolutely fantastic. I have seen the Vulcan and Victor models flying before but that Comet beats everything I have ever seen. What scale is it ? What is the length and span ?

IL62 Flights
I don’t it ever got any further than the planning stage but I had an E Mail in July about an IL62 flight that was being organised.
It was to be on an IL62 (Not M version) of Kras Air operating from Pardubice which I’m told is about 90k east of Prague. It was to be on a Sunday in either September or October for 100 Euros.
There isn’t a web site or anything but those interested were asked to express their interest to IL62@planes.cz
Thats all I know. Sorry cant help any more but you might be able to find something out by contacting them.
Great pictures. Thank you. It’s on my list to visit one day.
A couple of pictures of the Hunters from my visit in July.
Sorry about the shadow across XL568 by the hangar.
Ian
When I was there back at the beginning of July they were just getting ready to move the Britannia across the grass to the other side of the car park. The Andover and Varsity were over the far side of the airfield away from the museum area. The Argosy was in the same place as you described. The Javelin was in the restoration hangar being worked on. The Vulcan had a repaint last summer and the Victor was surrounded by scaffolding being painted.

You still managed some good pictures though. Thanks for sharing with us all
Extra 300 G-EIII
Neal H
I do have some of the Extra G-EIII. I’ll sort them out and post tomorrow. I didn’t post them initially as I didn’t think it fitted into the Historic theme.
Great display as always by Denny Dobson.
Ian
Listed in the programme for the flying display was the Gannet T5 which would have been very nice to see but as mentioned on these boards is still in the USA.
Any updates anybody ??

Shoreham Pictures Part 2
Could it be ZF579 ex 53-671 which is believed to be being restored to ground running (Engine running not taxiing) at the Gatwick Aviation Museum at Charlwood. It’s still a way off yet but that is something I remember being mentioned. There are two engines crated in boxes for it.
Picture taken at Charlwood a couple of weeks ago. 25th July 2004
A few airfield pictures for you all to look at
Luton 19/07/04
Manston 11/11/02
Sheffield City 14/08/03
Shoreham 19/07/04
Stapleford 19/07/04
Got plenty more if anybody has any requests
In the latest WR Edition 19 published May 2004 it still lists WG511 as a nose section last noted Jan 2004 so I should think it is still there unless anybody knows differently. When I visited in 1998 it was definetly still there but could easily be missed as really it was just the cockpit section which had been built around. Sorry no pictures but I do have some of the other exhbits outside.
Regards Ian
Great pictures of the taxi run especially with the nose wheel off the ground. The aircraft looks to have been painted and is looking far better than when I saw it last about 4 years ago. I know it’s difficult with it being kept outside but well done to all those involved.
Thanks for the pictures.
Ian
