    The ex Farnborough RAE Varsity WL679 is now at Cosford. It flew from Farnborough to Cosford in about 1993. I believe it is in outside store on the other side of the airfield away from public view but it used to be on display near the hangars with the Argosy which is also in outside storage.

    Does anybody know if these are to be brought back on display when all the building work is complete ?

    I would appreciate seeing any pictures of G-OBWD/G-OBHF being scrapped. If you trace back the history of that one it is ex Court Line G-AXMI.

    How nice it would to have seen that restored and painted in Court Line colours.

    There were two 146’s scrapped by ASI B-1775 and A6-SHK. Both were in the yard at Alton a few years ago but on another visit in May 2006 both had gone.

    There were two uncompleted nose sections in primer a few years ago but they moved on. Destination ??

    Probably Wymeswold about 8 miles SE of East Midlands airport. Three concrete runways in an RAF style triangular layout.

    Any other offers ? I am open to correction.

    When I visited last July tripods were not permitted and had to be keft at the front desk at reception to be collected later. In some areas the lighting is not too bad and good results were still possible without a tripod.

    It was my first visit since 1985 last year. Some new additions although the large number of aircraft outside had reduced with many in store on the far side of the airfield. The B747 is worth a walk through.

    Does anybody know of a date of an open day for the storage area on the other side of the airfield ?

    I was just on a quick visit to Weston from the UK for the day. I had a brief chat with somebody there who says it will be reassembled and completed but I don’t know as to what standard. I presume for static ? ?

    To reduce the files for posting. Try resizing the pictures to say 800 pixels wide and saving at a slightly lower JPEG setting but not too low as to lose quality.

    If no joy then you are welcome to send them to me direct and I can do it for you.

    So sad to see these pictures. I only visited about three weeks ago for soe lat pictures of the airliners. It was the day before the fencing was put up around the B707.

    The Trident was looking good. I have attached some interior shots taken about 5 years ago. Such a shame to see this go being the last Trident 1.

    Sorry for the quality. Pre-digital I’m afraid.
