Neil
I arrived at White Waltham at about 1345 and the Hurricane was already there. It departed for a couple of circuits at about 1415 and departed shortly after.
Nice pictures of yours too Neil. Well done

A few more for you.
I am not sure of the actual retirement date from RAE service but the last flight of WL679 was 27th July 1992 from Farnborough to Cosford.
I have three different colour schemes of G-AREA on slide in my collection. Unfortuneately none were taken by myself so not sure of the copyright situation.
Thanks for the update Neil.
At about 1400 today the Buccaneer nose was loaded on a lorry outside the gate. The Lightning nose and blue Hunter nose had moved round the corner. I understand the Lightning nose is also due to depart from the museum.
Do not forget John Dibbs. Some great quality air to air pictures

Thanks for sharing your pictures.
I visited on the 7th Feb 2006 and the Grahame White building was closed as was the upstairs gallery above the Sunderland and the area around where the Valiant used to be while they are moving things around and reassembling the Liberator.
For my pictures in the Battle of Britain Hall I preferred not using any flash but using a long time exposure on a steady tripod with remote shutter release. The attached picture of the Blenheim was taken at 27mm F10 100ASA and a time exposure of 20 seconds. Some darker areas of the German aircraft in the BoB Hall were taken at 30 seconds. All taken with a Canon EOS20D digital SLR.
Three possible shots below. All low res for the time being.

Heathrow Thursday 16th Feb.
If the wind is from the west which it is forecast to be then the runways will be 27L for landing until 1500 with 27R used for departures and then switching to 27R for landing.
If the wind does swing round to easterlies then it will always be 09L for landing.
Hope this helps.
