RE: A B747-500?
Well Paul, you seem to make it look a little to easy. Its not easy to make an aircraft as u must be knowing it. Just comin to this, think why didnt Airbus build a plane like the 747 when it was launched, thats becasue Boeing launched it first and they will have a monopaly on it. Meanwhile Airbus worked out the A380 and of cource its there brainchild so airlines are gonna opt for it. Know Boeing needs to make some new thing. The Sonic Cruiser i think is great. Small and FAST, thats the word to concentrate on. If we can reach our destinations early we wont be needing the luxuries of the A380. Ofcource if the luxuries of the A380 can be combined with a sonic crusier nothin like it;-).
RE: Shortest and longest flights
I was on board the flight Johanesburg-NY and it almost kills you. I am never travelling that route again. Bloody they show all stupid movies, SA songs…cant understand a thing. Lousy food, and a hell cramped 747. Hell is better than this flight.
RE: Shortest and longest flights
Well the worlds shortest flight is of 5 mins and 45 seconds Between Stuart Island and Florida Is. in the Pacific. Longest flight Johanesburg-NY…15 hrs 48 mins. SAA uses a B747-400 long reach. And I flew Singapore-Melbourne, it took 8 hrs 23 mins, great flight.
RE: The Best Airport in the world
I am seeing here that almost all are mentioning airports in England?
RE: your favorite airplane
Well Matheww, Airbus 340 cockpit is nice except its all blue in colour. I HATE THAT. B777 cockpit is the state of the art cockpit, ofcource ur right, i think the pilot has least to do. I like the cockpit of the A320 alot. Its real nice.
RE: Just wondering
V1 is this Dejavu or somethin. I took my gf to see the Concorde when it came first time in India, and she was pointin to another aircraft and sayin ” Whats so special about this plane, theres like it another one, there”. Pitty she was pointing towards a B757 of Royal Nepal. Inside i was thinkin how can u confuse a 757 with a Concorde.
RE: PIA FLEET RENEWAL
PIA had full plans to lease 3 A330s. But Airbus refused to accept there offer. KNow PIA has for long haul as VI mentioned 743, which you can say is there work horse. PIA operates these 3 743s to London, Copenhagen, NY, Bangkok-Tokyo and a few more which i cant remember. The A310 of theres on the Amsterdam sector is a ex-SIA aircraft.

RE: Gulf Air’s special paint
Totally agreed. Those look awsome. Airliner WOrld did an article also called Islamic Art, they just look terrefic. I dunno, i am quite gettin used to the BA tails know. But still quite dislike them.
RE: The Best Airport in the world
Heathrow is like a city to me….its just tooo damn big and conjusted. But i love the viewing area.
RE: Just wondering
Nice on V1….my gf HATES aeroplanes sooo much. SOmetimes people say how come u both came together, i dunno even if she knows these aeroplanes have seating places or you have to stand in them.
RE: The Best Airport in the world
I would rate Copenhagen AIrport as one of the best also….it is a magnificent airport. Also Oslo and SYdney airports are magnificent.
RE: Palmair, what´s that?
Aliairbus u sure about this, i thought they were from Bristol and i am deffinately sure they seized operations for quite some time during 1997
RE: Palmair, what´s that?
What….you saw a Palmair jet??? Palmair was an airline operating from Bristol but seized operations in 1997(i think). It had a fleet of 2 B737-200s and a a propelar plane also but i dont know which one. I am not 100% sure about this but am sure till 95%.
