……I say jolly good luck to him and whether or not his current business is successful it will give him some excellent experience for future ventures.
And should it prove unsuccessful do you consider it to be excellent experience for his investors?

17th December- 102 anniversary of powered flight (Wright brothers)
How far we have come.
In my case, not very far at all…..
Until tomorrow 🙂
The irony of today being the 102nd Anniversary of the Wright Brother’s first flight was not lost on me.

Was the Thomsonfly 737 a COV diversion? If so, it was as a result of a Shorts 360 bursting a tyre on landing and blocking the runway for some time. All being well I shall have more on my adventures at COV this afternoon and tomorrow lunchtime later on tomorrow.

Consul.
I was there and the schedule was disrupted very badly. My Father and I were scheduled for a 14:30 flight. This slipped to at least 16:30 and possibly later. Because of this we were offered a 12:00 flight tomorrow so hopefully we’ll be off tomorrow.
The incident involving the 360 was just one of those things. I also have to thank the staff and volunteers from the Air Atlantique Classic Flight for their efforts on what turned out to be a very difficult day for them.
I look forward to meeting some of them again tomorrow morning.

With all due respect it has been waiting, open to the elements with no attempt to provide any cover, since August 17th. How much would a couple of tarpaulins cost?

The SkyCommuter website is interesting, as it mentions Rangemile and the use of various aircraft including Jetstreams.
If you follow the link to Nutricius who run the group it appears that they are the force behind AlphaOne, even providing what they call the “Infrostructure.”
So, I suppose the question here is who really is behind AlphaOne?

Don’t say things like that Mark unless you know who or what you are talking about. My Uncle, at 82 years of age, fought off his attacker. Three weeks later we buried him so don’t be flippant about murder.

Admirable sentiment. There is, of course, the possibility you might turn into a gibbering wreck whose sole contribution to the event is to soil yourself. We can all say what we ‘think’ we’d do, however, until placed in such a situation none of us will ever really know.

bruce.
The 29th is fine for me.
I may be on sticks or in the chair. Regarding feedback, would be happy to discuss any issues regarding access with you. Even if I’m on my feet I’ll bring the chair as well if you think it might be useful.

A post on another forum suggested that the Jetstream was not available as the operating Company had withdrawn its support from AlphaOne. According to the arrivals and departures boards on Ronaldsway Airport’s official site, they are not expecting any movement from AlphaOne.
Time will tell.

Mr. Hanna.
It was you who brought the magical name ‘Spitfire’ to life for me. I’d read many books about the Spitfire and the exploits of its pilots. I’d built countless models, drawn countless pictures, but it was the first time I saw a Spitfire in the air that I began truly to appreciate its power, grace and beauty.
MH434 was the Spitfire.
You were the pilot.
I will be eternally grateful for the privelege of seeing you fly. Enjoy your rest, you will find many friends waiting for you.
Sincere condolences to the family and friends of the Master.

The call centre are more than happy to take your money off you. However, would you book a ticket when the airline’s terms and conditions, according to the website, do not exist?
Without terms and conditions made available to prospective passengers BEFORE they book, any passenger is taking a risk.
‘Under construction’ on the website means nothing to anyone wishing to book now. Perhaps someone more intelligent than me can advise whether or not it is actually legal to sell tickets without terms and conditions explained before booking. With Flybe and Thomsonfly you have to accept the terms and conditions before your booking is confirmed. With AlphaOne you have no terms and conditions to agree to although the page is there on the website.
The return fare offered me today was £112.26. However, I was told that was only for the 22nd December, other flights on other dates could be considerably more expensive, but the customer services advisor was unable to give me any other price.
“I sincerely wish you all the best and hope you don’t let any immature narrow minded individual put you down in any way. You have done so well to get this far and deserve to go further.”
The comment above from Mr.Business reveals how little he knows about the plans and prevarications of AlphaOne to date. Perhaps Mr. Halstead might wish to contact Mr.Business and enlighten him regarding the multiple start dates and their attendant delays, the prevarication over equipment, the constant changing of routes and also perhaps confirm his status as an ‘airline pilot.’ I’m sure Wys, WD, Skycruiser, Moondance et al can provide reams of paperwork to confirm their professional status.

I was under the impression the 7th December was the launch date
No, you’re getting confused with Pearl Harbour.
