It would be much kinder to the deer to go to the supermarket and buy some food and a pair of gloves, your hands would be warm, the poor would be fed and the deer would have kept it’s head. Seems like a win-win situation to me. Why you would want the head of a dead deer on your wall is beyond me.

I always think that if the deer could fight back people would be a lot less keen to go hunting.

I will be on cleaning duties on Rememberance Sunday at Old warden. I think it will be strange to be around some of the aircraft that helped to achieve victory in both World Wars.

I will be placing several Poppies in rememberance of certain individuals and crews. All it takes is time, and it’s thanks to the sacrifice of those who gave their lives and the efforts of those who fought, that we have the ability to donate a little bit of time. Steve Young was right, all they want is to be remembered.

Don’t bother with the warning Sean.

You’ve just confirmed the operation of a double standard right there.

Frank says behave, Sean issues a warning over the same post. Where then is the consistency? Proof positive that the right hand doesn’t know what the left is doing.

Wonder whether the Webmaster would see anything wrong with that little bit of confusion?

    Grey Area.

I am reporting your comment to the Webmaster and to the other Moderators. If that isn’t a personal attack then what is? Will you be so quick to apply the much vaunted Code of Conduct to yourself?

You are an obnoxious and arrogant individual who also uses his Moderator powers to maintain his position as a bully. You do it on commercial and now you are trying it here. If you can close threads because you personally think a thread is boring it shows just how low the standards here have sunk that you are allowed to get away with it.

    Comet.

Isn’t it one of the main tenets of Christianity that you turn the other cheek?

Your posts suggest that you would not accept that tenet therefore rejecting Christ, which means it really doesn’t matter what Christmas is called as in your world it doesn’t exist.

    Anna.

Why do you take things so seriously. It couldn’t possibly be you because you have made a number of attempts to join Plane Talk since it started, haven’t you?

It’s someone with a deep seated sense of outrage and indignation that they have been refused admission to Plane Talk. I personally couldn’t imagine who it could possibly be as it seems anyone with the slightest common sense and intellect has already been admitted.

The saddest thing I have ever done in the ironic sense, I can’t tell you, as it hurts to admit it to myself.

The saddest thing of any importance was holding my Mom’s hand after telling the Doctors not to resuscitate her and waiting until she quietly slipped away.

    Moggy.

Knowing you as I do, I can hear your conversation, and picture the expression on your face. It really is priceless when we get the opportunity to engage these veterans in conversation. And it doesn’t matter what the Branch of Service was, they all were willing (though they will all tell you not eager) to make the supreme sacrifice. They all have funny stories, tragic stories, and most of them have this uncanny ability to stop you dead in your tracks with a simple one liner.

An elderly gentleman I cared for in hospital was in the 8th Army and came up through Italy with them. He spoke a little about his experiences describing it as a time he wouldn’t have missed but that the did nothing out of the ordinary. Sadly, he died, and it was a few days later his son came back to the ward to thank us. I said his Dad had spoken of his time in the Army and it was then he showed his prized posessions. His Father had won the Military Medal and been Mentioned in Despatches three times.

And that’s what we remember, ordinary men and women doing the most extraordinary things and then thinking they did nothing of significance. This is not a false modesty. Incredibly to us, it’s what they actually believe.

    kev35
