Nermal.
How will I personally get away with anything? If I have acred incorrectly then the moderators will, of course, moderate me. If they don’t think that then you have nothing to complain about at all. You may notice, since you are in each other’s pockets, that I have not sent one derogatory private message to Flood, CB or yourself. What I’ve had to say I’ve said publicly. I don’t need to hide behind my anonymity.
You have accused me of flaming, strangely though, it’s your posts that were deemed to require ‘tidying up’, not mine. If Flood is so insecure and paranoid that the believes every thread is about him I suggest he reevaluate his position. I know he isn’t.
I posed the question to Flood as he is seen, and indeed portrays himself, as the dominant Moderator on GD. Frank tries to compromise, Flood is the master of the ‘big stick.’ One only has to remember the amount of warnings he has issued. Now, just so you can get this straight in your head….
AT NO TIME HAVE I EVER INSINUATED THAT FLOOD HAS PERSONALLY THREATENED MYSELF OR ANYONE ELSE WITH PHYSICAL VIOLENCE.
“but in fact it is someone else who is sticking up for his friend who is still getting slagged off even after she was banned – ooh what a give-away. Having now worked out that it was EN830 who received the PM concerned (so why have you have stuck your nose in?)”
My nose was stuck in because I was just sticking up for a friend. All right for you but apparently not for me? Double standard? I was, and remain, appalled that threats of physical violence were made. I just wanted to find out from the dominant moderator on GD what his view was in respose to this. And got no response at all other than the vitriol and invictive spouted by his cheerleading team.

One final and salutary point I have noticed regarding this thread….
Neither Flood, Nermal or the flouncing Colonial Bird have condemned the threats or even intimated that they may be unacceptable.
Speaks volumes really doesn’t it?

It has not escaped my notice that NO Moderator has given their opinion publicly regarding the issue of threats of physical violence issued via pm. This raises the following questions…
Is the issue being avoided?
Is the silence of the Moderating team an indication that they believe that threats made by pm are in fact acceptable? (Having met most of the Moderators I can hardly believe this to be the case.)
Is it the fact that by agreeing that such behaviour is unacceptable, they are afraid of then committing themselves to the action which such serious threats warrant?
Is it that the Moderation team are not confident that they have the full support and backing of the Webmaster if it is decided that firm, definitive action is required?
My response to Flood on this thread is as a result that Frank, by locking the thread Flood started, effectively gave him the last word. Effectively took away the right to debate.
So, to Nermal.
Please answer this simple question. A yes or no is all that is required. Just be careful you don’t slip when climbing off the fence.
Is it acceptable under the forum code of conduct for one member to make threats of physical violence against another?
I don’t see the complexity of the question.

Nine, possibly ten. Started off with just two for sometime but they gradually seem to appear.
Nice picture anyway.

Suggest you speak to someone at the Midland Air Museum. They may be able to point you in the right direction.

Flood. Thank you for your response. It is sad that it seems you need protecting from debate, hence the thread closure. Especially in light of the fact that I have repeatedly said I am asking YOU a question, I am seeking the advice of a moderator, there is no attack on you whatsoever in my post regarding threatening behaviour. You, Nermal and Colonial Bird, are, sadly, apparently incapable of understanding that.
“Dear everyone,
Last night I was talking with Erin when she told me about the Flood Question thread and said that she had reported it. I had no idea where it was going nor what its purpose was, but since my name was mentioned I decided that – due to the recent bad feeling by the thread starter towards me both here and on historic – I had best not reply nor moderate it. That was as far as it went until I arrived home this evening.”
As Moderator you should be able to put your perceived bad feeling to one side and answer the question that was asked.
“I did not discuss this with Erin more than saying that I had not got a clue about it; and it is fair to say that she reported it well before I’d even seen it – she cannot speak on the phone if she is on the net (and vice versa) and when she brought it to my attention was the first I knew of it.”
Perhaps you should direct your Moderation towards Colonial Bird and Nermal who went deliberately out of their way to inflame the situation. You know this is true. I asked a civil question, civilly, and was harangued by your cheerleading team. I won’t wait for an apology from them because they have merely shown their ignorance yet again.
“My view about the question: no insults are good insults, but let the moderators do their job and you might know in the long run. At this moment I know no more than you have read here, but if anyone gets insulted by anyone else then please report it: don’t bottle it up.
My view about the way the question was put here: it should have either been addressed to the moderators, not a single moderator, or – and this is the best way, in my opinion – all the details passed over by PM and sorted out that way.”
And herein is where the problem lies. I did not mention insults. I mentioned the threat of physical violence directed by one forum member towards another. That is far more serious yet you have chosen to ignore the question and vascillate. I wouldn’t dream of suggesting that if a physical threat had been made against Colonial Bird or Nermal that your response may have been somewhat different.
So let’s open this up to everyone…

Nice shot. I really like the Thomsonfly livery and do not miss Britannia’s livery at all. I really thought I would.
sorry to go off topic but can you post to a link about the Z10 and give us a rough guide price for the Z10 please?

It’s going to be very impressive given that it’s got to hold all three V bombers, the York, Hastings and Dakota, plus a variety of smaller jets.
Should be excellent !!
I believe the Belfast (Shorts, not HMS;)) the Argosy, Andover, Canberra, Javelin and others are slated to be in the new building. you can actually see the twisted shape from that aerial picture. It will be impressive, but it won’t be Cosford anymore…
