Arms Race
Not at X-mas, as You might have imagined. But a “sale” at the local “photo-shop”, which dealed in a lot of things. We three brothers got each a kit from my dad, and he accidentally started an “Arms Race”, some of You may have experienced as well, I’m sure! I got the FROG Oxford, that he 15 years earlier worked on as an aircraft mechanic.
Wonderful pic’s. Merry X-mas to all.
The “hump” on the back? Looks like the one on NASA WB-57’s? (Aviation News Jan/2013 p.69).
Broussard and An 2
Above EKVJ Stauning.
Here is a Danish Broussard imported from Hungary. But not allowed to fly presently – as the “LY-” registered An-2 in the background. (Photo taken overhead EKVJ Stauining).
French Beaver!
Exactly! The Broussard is a Beaver “clone”. But doing a good job of it.
Best Regards

Nothing to do with dayglo:
The Chinook at Odense did indeed lift two Land Rovers – but lost one after a couple of minutes! 😮
Here are some more ancient Danish dayglo “birds”:

Wonderful “panning” indeed! What settings do you use to keep the props “whirling” – and the aircraft sharp?
Good point, “RobAnt”! Those two polished their boots, and donned authentic gear etc. for a good reason – to be photographed. If you take the time to explain to them your problem, public in the background etc. I’m sure they would be helpful rearranging. Then you show them your shots on the back of the camera – well, wouldn’t you be flattered?
“He in the Jungmann is a she”
Yes, very nice, a man would be picking his nose, when the traffic gets heavy 😀
We sometimes hear the P&W R 2800’s of the A-26 crossing our small country. Always get me out of the house, then pester my colleagues: “What was that?”. Turboprops of the ATR, Jetstream, SAAB-kind don’t have the same “X-factor”. (Powerful and efficient as they may be.)
Best Regards
RobAnt: Regarding the first B-17 picture, I feel the “story” is lost if you shoot from low level. (That here is real filled Coke bottles from 1944 in the box and some giant popcorns (?) in the box behind). The gray clouds could be cut away, as well as the “man from the future” in jeans below the wing. If you don’t go for heavy “photoshopping”.
Best Regards
The Jungmann pilot seems bored – or is he trying to get some sense of the R/T?
Very fine pics!
Don’t discount the Lanc/snow(?) picture! Not the kind seen everyday.
Very fine pictures!
The Airtourer competed to replace Chipmunks in Denmark. (Early 70’ies). It lost to the Swedish MFI-17. But Sweden chose the Scottish Bulldog! Later Norway went for MFI-15’s. I had the good fortune to travel with “Baby Blue”, the RDAF Flying School display team, to Koksijde, Belguim, last Summer. The amount of displacemnt in this typical “slow mover”-team- mostly up/down – is unbelievable. Yet hardly noticable from the ground. What is the smoke system like? (We’ll never get a smart paint job! But maybe some ather gimmick 😀
