“Forgive me – but that cockpit looks a bit crowded for a solo…”
Ah, you caught my deliberate mistake 😀
It was in fact a few days after first solo. The check pilot, not in the picture, took off after the meeting to give the gentlemen of the press some pictures of a T-17 with one pilot in it.
No, I don’t think you would let a prince, anyone?, off on a first solo if you don’t thrust them!

My feelings about Mr. Bahnhaus:
“I sit in my comfortable chair talking on the telephone about last summer. “Do you remember that Spitfire at xxx.?
Yes, but wasn’t there something odd about the tail wheel?
You know what I saw today?”
My frontdoor is kicked in by someone from California, Arnold?. He walks past me: “Don’t talk about pictures anymore! I’ll be back”
Goes to my kitchen and take one of my cool beers.
Somehow that p***** me off a little bit.
Mr. Bahnhaus. What have you provided this forum of pictures, research etc.?
Best regards

Ooops! (Self proclaimed master of recognition.:o )
One thing I learned many years ago:
The more you learn about aviation, the less you realize you know.

Maybe you’ve answered this before WD, but are you flying MD80’s? (re. your avatar)

Not bad! (front picture)
Having experienced a few Malev Tu-154, this is no B727 or Trident clone. (much more power). And there is a vast difference if you turn right or left entering the cabin. Lots of space in the back emergency exit abeam the intakes – and lots of noise. In the forward fuselage – like all other airliners.

(Discussing with myself now)
A few years ago Karup, DK, was very like what Arthur (et al) have experienced around the world (mostly east or south east). You simply didn’t point your Agfa “Click clack” within sight of the perimeter fence. Or the military – or civilian police – were on to you like a ton of bricks.
When you are Officially! allowed to take pictures beside the runway. Well, what would you do?
“I’ll be Back!”

And here we are the morning – ehh afternoon – after.
Cool, calm and relaxed. What is the problem of “ppl” pointing their
cameras and sharing?
I remember a “Flight”-issue some years back. On the front page Libyan MiG-23’s – taken from a passing airliner cockpit. I bought that one for real money!
Whiskey Delta! More please!
(And the Antonov “enhanced”)

As we are now seriously “wandering” try to look up
“Tailhook Convention 1991”
(Search for the “leg shaving courtesy parlours”)
How they ever got to the moon (Ooops – old thread).

“B***haus:
I have always maintained that people CAN post pictures as visual aids, but not for the fun of it.
eg just posting random pictures of planes, but i dont want to get into that arguement again.”
Just felt a strong urge to post a picture – for the fun of it a random one – taken today. (Is that allowed in an “Aviation Forum”?)
Best regards

I sincerely hope no English/Americans saw my editors “change” of a headline a few years back in the leading Danish aviation journal:
“Bones above Karup”.
(“Bone” is one very clever name for B-1 in my opinion)
Anyway he changed it to:
“Boners above …”
