Swiss’s press release was entirely correct. That some journalists “doctored” it, is what you’d expect.
But really this is an everyday event – and what TCAS is there for.
The TV weatherman just told that after 9/11 when all airliner flying stopped over USA, the night temperature was 3 centigrades lower due to the missing contrails.
A Maersk just passed over. It is usually a CRJ but tonight it was a B737. So I asked them. It is only the 737-700’s that get the new paint. (for now)
We sort of agreed that at least it is different.
Vel talt Kenneth!
Autopilot? Like the one in “Airplane”? :p
TCAS works with climbs or descents – not turns.
The 300 meters and 15 -35 seconds, as you say, don’t really fit together.

Strange indeed!
Part of the very conservative A. P. Moller group. The “kitchen” blue was there forever – or so we thought.

Hey! This is what this forum is really about. Every new member should be directed to this thread 😉
First trip 1968? SAS Convair Metropolitan, EKKA to EKCH, return by Caravelle (like Kenneth). Those Pratt & Whitney R 2800 really rattled the windows on take off! 😮
Next Ka 7 glider – that seemed fragile! Never went solo on the Ka 8.
Dazda & Kev: Chipmunk. Shades of Battle of Britain waddling around with those back pack “Irvin”-chutes. First solo on P-124 – in the US now. Those were the days!

The – ROTARY – engine seems such a good idea . But only Mazda continue to use it. There was a NSU (Audi) Ro 80 car in the early 70’ies. If one driver met another he would hold up a number of fingers – usually more than two – for how many engine changes he would have had.

I don’t know if this is available to the public, but there is something called a TAC forecast including the contrails heightband – i.e. the predicted flightlevels that produce contrails. If you are a “smart” fighter pilot you position just below – or above that level. You do not contrail – but opposition “sneaking” up on you will.

P.S. AWACS will often show circles for a whole day – also on satelite photos.
OK – Boyz ‘n girls. No hard feelings!
(Ooops – bad expression 😮 )

Right Kenneth! 🙁 We want the “Viking Ships” back. This scheme has probably cost megabucks and is exactly as dull as almost everybody else. Like a six year old would do it. A seven year old would do it better in Paint Shop Pro. 😉

Hey! I asked for “honourable” members – and you “rockers”and “wanke*s” turn up 😀
