    You mean 1966?

    lovely misspell: “deflected migs”

In Air Power Journal (or the successor) there is an account of the Liberty shooting.

At the time Israeli pilots were unaware of the ECM that jammed their radars. I’m sure this has improved since. 😉

What if “junk-food” is some form of WMD? 🙁

(I won’t say the M-word. Had one yesterday – and a B.K. on the return trip)

Isn’t that a Draken double delta wing? (Later F-16XL?) 😉

Sweden/SAAB/Scania/Volvo has a long tradition of collaboration with the best in the world of aviation. Germany, Italy, USA, Great Britain. They have one very good motivation – they really couldn’t afford a failure. 😉

Engines: RR Avon, P&W JT8 (Viggen), GE F404.

Ejection seat: Very much Martin Baker like (legal battle?)

If one engine could do the job – why put in two?

    Draken – Lightning

    Gripen – Hornet (maybe?)

My brother has got the only Wankel Norton in Denmark. What do you think about it?

For back-up he’s got an 850 Commando, – and somewhere in the back of the shed a BSA single.

(Never a bike man myself) 😉

    A right honourable project!

    Very fine evocative pictures 🙂

Many years ago flash (and tripods?) was not permitted. How is the situation now?

Reminds me of the movie “Airplane”. A bit scary though strapped in a few miles high (“eight”? and when you come down);)

The cost of a Typhoon (or any other modern jet) is incomprehensible. But then of course you can save that more.

“Austrian Finance Minister Karl-Heinz Grasser said that the government had made every effort to reduce the costs of the project to a minimum, noting that 660 million euros had been saved by reducing the number of eurofighters from 24 to 18.”

It amazed me (and disappointed the Swedes) when Austria lined up. Apparantly it helped having a war going on on your doorstep! 😉

A nice little brochure from the Austrian Air Force told the public that the cost of out of date medicine thrown away each year! 😮 in Austria would pay for the fighters.

We can always blame the pilot(s). 😉
After all it wouldn’t have happened if he (they) had stayed in bed.

“Human factors”? A little early to pin that.

The eyes are drawn to the two rear windows. That rock? looks more like comic boy Calvin having been squashed by his tiger Hobbes 😉 (The human mind is strange, isn’t it?) I bet it looked better in the computer :p
