Yes, but “fashion” also plays a role. Trident, B727 and Tu-154. TheTupolev has got lots of power (compared to the other two) and lots of mainwheels! “Look-a-likes”, but very different.

“Same specs. should produce similar designs”.

I also subscribe to this theory. Then someone pointed out – if you’ll pardon this military intrusion – the two Joint Strike Fighter designs. (Did the Boeing lose because it was so ugly?). Come to think of it: YF-22 and YF-23 were also quite different.;)

Fantastic picture! Look at the PAPI’s – two red, two white. Maybe not so suicidal after all. Anyone remembers the glide path angle?

    Hi schanche!

One of my friends bought a digital camera recently. He was very happy with the information on http://www.dpreview.com . I myself bought an “oldfashioned” Canon SLR, as the digital version suitable for my lenses would be four times as expensive. But certainly next time it will be digital. Check robbo’s “Test – a few pictures from Shuttleworth”. The increase in quality has been astonishing the last couple of years. One problem people complain about: When you press the shutter, it takes a while before the picture is taken. Children tend to walk away in the meantime! But of course it costs nothing to take another picture.

    Happy Hunting!

Unfortunately also scrapped a lot of old fighters here. Most were USAF property given as weapons aid. Survivors now has small yellow sign saying something like: “CFE arms limitation item. Not to be moved witout consent of Danish Air Force Air Material Command”. Also some very un-airworthy types. But apparently this is allowed, if the CFE-nations can inspect them.
