Ink! Couldn’t agree more! (Though I’m “air force” 😉 )
Best regards
Cartoons
I find it a little funny, as a country, being “attacked” by Saudi Arabia, for instance. They simply can not fathom that a “liberal” paper, though “friendly” to the PM, can print whatever they like.
Try bringing a bible through customs in Saudi Arabia!
And by the way nobody are demonstrating and “burning flags” in the streets of these states unless instructed from “above”.
Best regards

Ooops! 😮 Thanks Papa Lima!
…and TMN, of course. I’ll share the pictures with my family.

unless anyone requests
B-17 “Shoo – shoo (etc.) – Baby”, a picture, please. My very recently passed away father once flew in her, when he – and she – was in the Royal Danish Air Force. His story, as a passenger, recounts “ripples” running continously from fuselage to wingtip and back on the upper wing surface. He started wondering: “How many times? How long will it last?” I’ve never seen other references to this “vibration” phenomenon before. Was it “standard B-17”?

Tiger Meet Markings
Why no Tiger Markings at RIAT:
statement by “an MOD spokesperson” on the “NATO Tigers Roar 2005”.
“This was always going to be the case – not too many wearing tiger markings”. :p
We want grey tigers – not the yellow/black kind! And not too many wavy lines, please! 😉
Charles Brown Picture?
The two “upper left” of Stormbird’s post are Charles Brown’s, I believe. An American sometime ago pointed out the pilot’s shirtsleeves and tie and impeccable Brylcrem hairstyle. (And how he envied the pilot!).

Ah – this explains an ATR doing 240’ish and height to spare on finals. 😉
(No dragchute though!)
P.S. Caravelles and Lear Jets had “chutes” – other civilians?
With the quality of pix. from RIAT05 posted here (and otherwise on the forum) –
Why did I lug that big bag of lenses around?
Next year I’ll just lay back in the grass and enjoy it!
There is a thread nearby about the B-29. (Fantastic plane compared to the ones “prewar”.) But that thread about the atomic planes/missions are a little “over the top” for my taste. Thank You for a very balanced discussion here.
I nearly got into a “fight” with a colleague the other day. He being of the “atomic bomb = war crime” persuasion. (But nevertheless very knowledgeable about Japanese war crimes.) In truth I’m in doubt, but find like Sherman? – “War is Hell”. (From the first casualty – military or civilian).

Copied for further use!
And when you think of the original “owners” – GPS? How does that work? 😀
My Canon G3 pushes the lens cap off by itself – clever!
Those Zenith Kodachromes in the loft? What’s the price nowadays for a scanner that “do” slides?
Just missed the above by Skymonster by being too slow typing/thinking 😉
Very instructive! (Even on my very old Toshiba laptop)
If you “take” the photo at the camera’s highest resolution, I find it a good starting point. (You can never make a picture “bigger”, but always smaller).
Next question: Is the “RAW” format really used? (F.ex. by forum members?)
I know there are several professionals here, who have given me valuable advice before.
(By chance a Canon Powershot G3 fell into my lap a couple of years ago. (Just after I bought an EOS 30 (analog)!.) The G3 is the workhorse now. And of course I should’ve gone digital for the SLR/long lens then. Well people like steam engines, Spitfires etc. )
