How are these Russian HMD on Su-35/Su-30SM etc when compared to Western Counterpart ? Do they work the same way and have similar capabilities ?

It’s not HMD but HMS(ight) and it’s much closer to this(on the pic below), than to the modern HMDs. In other words, other than ability to aim the missile seeker, they’re uncomparable.

Just a little hint and reminder: Krylov State Research Center is not a ship-design bureau, but theoretical and experimantal research institute.

I didn’t say replacement… only that they were trying to fix it, again.

The ship isn’t old you know. Given its handful of short deployments it can hardly claim to have worn its engines out.

May be you should read something, before make such statements? His propulsion system has been nearly killed during 1990’s/early 2000’s by the wrong opearation and poor maintenanse so now it can’t be fixed but only replaced.

It’s last deployment ended over two years ago did it not? What has it been doing? Just hanging out?

Yeah, just hanging out, participating in trials of Indian MIG-29K/KUB and after that Russian MIG-29KR/KUBR

Ah repairs… presumably to fix nothing because it wasn’t broken…

    http://tass.ru/en/russia/794659

There WASN’T replacement of propulsion, during that repair. Your insinuations are plain stupid.

Seriously though, if you can’t sail a few weeks without fear that your newly overhauled carrier will end up dead in the water maybe seapower isn’t your thing.

Overhauled?! Kuznetsov will be docked for the large overhual with propulsion replacement only after this Syria trip. May be you should check the facts, instead of demonstrating your ignorance and bias?

Pyotr Veliky is the fourth Kirov class cruiser (and the only one operational today),

what happened with the others ?

Rust. In addition to Pyotr(which is scheduled to be upgraded in 2019-2020), currently, only Nakhimov is getting overhaul and upgrade.

^^ For comparison, one from the other side…

It’s engine starting, not in cruise. Kuzya is a differnt story.

BTW, the first interview with Asma Al-Assad. Quite an interesting talk with a beautiful and well educated woman. Spread herword, cozi have very strong doubts your ‘free’ Western media will showsomething similar.

Is there any reason they won’t be able to delegate that function solely to N025?

    Does N025 have a radio-command channel/mode? I don’t know.

Khrizantema was mentioned a few years back as a possible missile for the new attack helos though, so that’s not a bad thing.

Never heard of that from official sourcrs before today.

BTW, is it a Khrisantema FCR on the pylon?
