    Somewhat loosely related, but there is this, thanks to Flateric for the pointer;

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kUZk8rZnVTM

    Of note; Different T-50 related things from 15.50 and onwards including CAD’s of different subsystems including wingbox and slat CAD’s and their assembly. Can’t wait for Jo’s excuses for this;

    Jo’s excuses for what? What piece of evidence for what(or against what) claim are we looking at?

    hahahahahahaha

    pathetic.

    So you mean the missiles are of **** all use in intercepting cruise missiles then?

    Good to know.

    Convert all old cessnas to cruise missiles, they may take like a day to get to their targets but they will… all get there !

    Apaches & Mi-28 design has its own merit , specially if you are fighting a jihadi in Iraq or in Syria , A pilot would be more comfortable to sit inside these two chopper knowing well they might at worst face a 23 mm Ack Ack or Stinger/Igla and in most cases an AK.

    But if you add a half decent modern organic air defence cover there would be little benefit in pursuing such a heavy chopper design with limitation in manouverability or hot high operation role , A design like Europen Tiger , Indian LCH or Russian Ka-52 would be a better trade off with emphasis on Manouverability and decent protection levels with hot/high operation possible , survivability would be better in presense of enemy organic AD system and its protection level would be equally good when fighting Jihadi types of targets.

    Even the cancelled Comanche program relied on manouveribility & stealth and some of the future attack chopper program from Russian UAV has taken Ka-52 like approach

    I would think that no one in their right mind would send choppers -no matter what their ‘weight’ is- against any moderately capable air defence presence.

    Every time you mention aviation it prolongs the thread!!!

    Well UK aviation is going to be affected as the rest of the EU industry will be unwilling to integrate a non EU member into everything… plain and simple.
    of course there will be interaction but integration ..not likely.

    Swerve, take care! Maybe your ancestors migrated to heaven like England during 15th. If so i hope they were educated otherwise (i) you may be deported from UK after being sentenced to refund 550 years of irregularly gained social help, (ii) deported to your “country of origin” as you may be part of the plot initiated in 1452 in order to create EU and deprive fierce England from its natural leader role and economical power. Beware, maybe you should better wear a yellow star as UE citizen in GB than being deported to your country of origin as terrorist suspect, i’ve been told many EU countries still torture innocent UK citizens!

    All this talk about heritage is pointless. It is indicative of arguing with a Brexit supporter. Mindless points that end up in one thing. Immigration!

    Not at all. I said that I would not reveal any personal details from the very start.

    Because nobody buys anything from US Ebay or Amazon, even though they’re not in the EU?:stupid:

    Perhaps you can advertise your car somewhere suitable when the engine goes…. like craigslist.

    Sigma4, I am not sure I understand you. Your affiliation (not to say love) of Brexit is more than obvious. You are on the winning side, the UK will “****** off” of the EU. Why are you still here justifying this decision? Most of your posts have nothing to do with the affect of Brexit to English aviation.

    Also, we have our own right to NOT subscribe to your own personal point of view. Your side won, fair enough, but we have different views. We don’t want any justification from you. What is done is done. I hope you are equally vociferous when the Brexit will prove to be not the rosy peachy road that was believed by the millions of naive people who simply don’t like Germans and immigrants!

    all else is just boring repetitions.

    A design is still a product and a license to build is still an export, bought in £s, which will benefit from the current slump in the currency.

    Where have I blamed immigrants for how much we produce, which, as you may have noticed isn’t something I have a problem with? This is just your usual trolling and strawmanning that you’re famed for. I blame immigrants for not earning enough and therefore not paying enough taxes to expand public services in proportion to the rate they increase the population at. And I blame them for coming at too high a rate to be sustainable, or planned for. Nothing to do with production, unemployment or any of the absolute crap you’re wittering about.

    Listen dude, a while back the UK made a concious decision to turn into a services market (and a real estate economy by artificialy increasing the prices of 200+ year old houses, which by the way are the worst in Europe) and move away from production.

    The fact that 20 years later a bunch of immigrants came in and started Polish corner shops has nothing to do with the fact that Britons are unemployed. Rather than expecting the goverment to kick out the immigrants so they can get (fantasy) factory jobs again, they could start their own corner shops or whatever else. It was a lack of goverment initiative and resolution that led to the conditions found across the UK and not the EU. Also the involvement in a couple of wars that the UK couldn’t afford made things worst.

    don’t go blame the EU for the shortcommings of the UK policies. Some of us live there, remember ?

    Interesting,very true but… how many employers and at what skill level?
    It the same there when you talk about Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Ducati, Guzzi, Bertone, Pininfarina: all woundrous things but a single Fiat assembly line employ more people than all this elite productions put together…

    Spot on mate. There are sweatshops in China that employ more people than all of those things put together.
    I have already explained that in terms of specialised manufacturing the UK is as good as any other nation, but in terms of volume production (and employment) is not even close to where people would even begin to get jobs the way the brexit people wished for.

    Traditional manufacturing is only a fraction of the British economy…..it’s cheaper to pay someone in China or India to make something….the way forward is specialised high value and hi-tech products (including some steel and machine tools) ……traditional manufacturing will never come back again and it’s ok….

    Apparently it’s not ok because people still believe (and voted so) that it’ll come back! (See my other post).

    I was watching a report from the north after the referendum. Hartlepoole I think. They asked a young lad -who voted Leave- what he thought was going to happen now. He said he can’t wait for the factories to come back and young Britons to get jobs at them(??).

    I have never seen more misplaced beliefs in all my life!
