Thought you might like to see these they were taken at Farnborough in 08.

……made of the finest fibreglass! 😉

I don’t think a few months in the weather will do her any significant harm. I seem to recall she spent a quite considerable time outside after arrival from Portugal.

My concern is more for its longer-term future, i.e. whether the new custodians intend to keep it under cover, or leave it outside in the rather inclement Krakow weather.

Interestingly if you look at the USAFM website you can see the Spanish built Ju52 there outside in the weather.

Wasn’t that one up for sale, minus data plate and identity, a while back?

Sadly the Ju-52 (actually an Amiot AAC.1) will not have got “up to anything”, as it has been abandoned there by its previous owner. 🙁

David, the (somewhat controversial) Ethell archive does not hold the copyright to most of the photos listed on it. I’m sure a quick Google search will reveal more.

Still think Flypast have missed something here and should extend their remit a bit

I thought FlyPast was dire in the Ken Delve days, full of endless bloody Canberra articles every month 🙁

Good to see these are now in good hands. For me these are the most significant ‘at risk’ aircraft in the UK as I love propliners. Would be great to see one return to flight and the other undercover in a UK museum.

I’m not sure which museum you think might put one under cover, as it is a type with little or no significance to the UK (a country where a national museum is presently disposing of a Ju-52 and throwing the last surviving Ambassador outside to face the winter weather)

Rather surprised that it was sold after it’s return to the States.

I believe the owner (Gen Lyon) decided that owning three was a little excessive, and having two (a C-47 and a DC-3) in his collection would suffice, so disposed of ‘Fifi Kate’

That’s where the formerly-European based warbird C-47 ‘Fifi Kate’ ended up, I caught it departing Chino for its new home south of the border a couple of years ago. They subsequently wrecked it, but I believe it has been repaired and put back into service again.

Must admit that I prefer the gawky appearance of the 3605,

Each to their own, I suppose. Plus the Schlepps smell funny, a bit like a paraffin lamp. :p

but doesn’t that place look like utter aviation heaven?!

They certainly do seem to always have some interesting projects on the go.

I wondered what had happened to that one. It will be good to see it back in the air again, a rare and unusual machine, and so much better looking (and sounding!) than the Schlepp.

Thats the one not sure of its current colours since restoration?

I believe it is still undergoing restoration.

While on the subject of Meteor T7s, is the one that used to sit dismantled in the open over on the North side at Duxford still there?

Posts on other fora seem to indicate that CA is being incorporated into Aviation News. 😉

So now we’ll have Air Pictorial, Aviation News and Aircraft Illustrated all between a single set of covers. Lucky us! 😉

I am sure Ian Allen explored the future of the magazine -possibly lamented the day it ever decided to chance name from Aircraft Illustrated and took the decision to ditch it!

It is hard to read anything into this, as Ian Allan in fact disposed of their entire magazine portfolio to Key in one fell swoop rather than divesting themselves of individual titles.
