The old Hawker Sea/Fury racer Riff Raff went to the Czech republic not long ago…….
…. As did the ex-Sandy Thompson one from Canada, along with P-51 ‘Excalibur’.

I admire your optimism! 🙂
I agree, but personally i think Mr Flying Legends himself is one of the few who would actually negotiate with the owner, put hand in pocket and make it happen.
The owner does not take any of his aircraft to events in the US, let alone abroad.
I haven’t followed this story at all, so was wondering if the construction of the
Mosquito is as the original would have been built, or have there been enforced
compromises ?Also how much of the airframe and wings are original, or was it a complete rebuild ?
All the wood is new, but as many of the metal fittings from the original airframe as possible were re-used. Construction follows the original, but using modern glues IIRC.
A magnificent achievement by Glyn Powell (who built the wooden components), the team at Avspecs (who did the systems build and installation) and Jerry Yagen (who must have been writing some extremely large cheques over the past few years). It looks as though they still have a way to go to meet the planned September first flight date, though.
Someone mention Seafires :D? 22 series Spits are ok Cees, but to bring this beauty back home would be the ultimate for me 🙂
I’d love to see someone brave enough to attempt to put this “Ezellized” Seafire on the UK register.
The 1 Squadron F.21 is being refurbished for the association it belongs to. Hopefully some of the faults and deficiencies can be sorted with her.
Will it be heading up to Scotland once 1 Sqn reform later this year?
At least he can paint a third kill marking on the P-51 now – he’s well on the way to becoming an ace!

Just a curious question? I noted that the TFC operated MK1 had a slightly different shade of Green/Brown paint…why would this be?
Perhaps the owners are looking for sponsorship from a well-known mobile phone company.

One of the piston Firecrackers (N182FR) and a turbine version (N2157C) are being used by the National Test Pilots School at Mojave. Both were still active quite recently.
Well said Seafuryfan.
With today’s tragic event coming on top of the cancellation of most of this season’s shows to date, we should all do what we can to show our support for the Collection. One way of doing this is by joining SVAS. http://www.svasweb.org/
As well as half-price entry on event days and free entry to the Collection at other times, members receive an excellent magazine 3 times a year, plus your membership fee goes towards supporting the Collection (SVAS makes significant donations to the Collection each year, such as funding the purchase of spares). A worthy organisation indeed, and deserving of our support.
How about an outdoor set-up with say 3 Stirlings being crewed-up prior to take-off with nearby as a separate display a couple of Me110 nightfighters being got to readiness as dusk approaches?
I wonder how many million that would cost to do properly (i.e. accurate facsimiles, not wood and fibreglass lookalikes)
Perhaps it could be named “Aerodisney”
