According to a press release sent out by the IWM yesterday, the Harrier GR9 is destined, after restoration, for the atrium of the main building in London when it re-opens in 2014

Why can’t you just say “Aeroplane Magazine”?

Probably because it’s now the only direct competitor to the provider of this forum

Then it got full of Mustangs and adverts for Stallion 51.

I thought you were talking about Warbird Digest for a moment there! 🙂

And there’s also the magnificent Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter rebuilt by the Memorial Flight, now reassembled at La Ferte Alais.

Another one that will hopefully be flying before too long is Chris Prevost’s Grumman F3F at Schellville, north of San Francisco. This is the one damaged by water at Lone Star in Texas in Hurricane Ike a few years back.

    …..- 2 x Skyraiders……

Let’s hope there are still 2 at the end of the weekend, and not 1 3/4 😮

There are usually some pointy grey noisy French things (Rafales or some such) there as well.

WW was a very good magazine, but as Propstrike has already said mentioned, I’ve got over it. I used to write and photograph for WW, it was a fun time with lots going on in the warbird movement.

Far more missed is Paul, a tragic loss of a good friend taken from us far too young. 🙁

That is stunning, shame it’s not airworthy as that scheme would brighten up the majority of dullness currently displaying :diablo:

Are you happy with ANYTHING concerning the current preservation scene Black Knight? You seem to be stuck in some kind of a timewarp where there were only a handful of preserved aircraft flying at best, Duxford was a fraction of what it has now become, and outside the BBMF and RNHF, flyable warbirds were few and far between.

Do you wear flares and bri-nylon shirts too, perhaps?
