I think people are possibly missing the point here, as I read it Bruce is asking about projects that specifically have a webpage, blog, or some kind of social page that the progress of the restoration can be viewed or followed on and linked here to.
Just naming restorations is easy enough.

TFC’s Bristol Beaufighter although it has a few years left!

The Museum Of Flights’ Comet and Cutlass restorations are ambitious, and can be viewed here, http://rbogash.com/restore_capab.html

The Cutlass is an interesting one. As I understand it, it is owned by the head of the restoration shop, rather than by the Museum itself. The last time I was there (a few weeks back) it was covered in a layer of dust and did not look to be actively being worked on. It has also been advertised for sale recently.

They’ve also got some other interesting projects underway, including the prototypes of the F8U Crusader and Lockheed Jetstar, as well as a Wildcat that will replace the example currently on display in the main museum (which is destined for Old Warden)

Ooops, how did I forget this? 😮

The Memorial Flight’s superb WWI replicas and restorations. A nice website with regular updates

A few of my own personal favourites:

The P-61 at MAAM (although I’ve not seen it yet). Both the recovery and restoration can be counted as ‘epics’

    http://www.maam.org/p61.html

Addison Pemberton’s Boeing 40C. Simply stunning.

    http://home.comcast.net/~biplane0/boeing40/

    P-38 Lightning ‘Glacier Girl’

    http://p38assn.org/glacier-girl.htm

As far as current restorations go, most restorers seem to have better things to do than keep a website/blog up to date, so many interesting projects have little on-line presence.

Here’s a nice site about a Hawker Hurricane restoration in the Pacific Northwest, though.

    MONEY!!!!!! :diablo:

    Richard

And how precisely is a lawsuit brought against a UK internet forum for discussing a lawsuit in the US supposed to bring in any money? The whole thought process of some on here seems quite bizarre to me.

Look guys, it’s really very simple. Bystanders were killed and seriously injured. As is the way in the US, the lawyers will go after anyone (actually, after their liability insurance providers) who has a connection, however tenuous, to the accident. We can expect several other lawsuits to be filed in the coming weeks.

Just discussing it on this forum could end up with a lawsuit?

    ???

A lawsuit? For discussing a lawsuit brought in the US? For what possible reason?

I would be 10 and remember saying to a school friend…”Spitfires”.

    ” ‘einkels”

    “Messerschmitts”

    🙂

My own first memories were of visits to Coltishall BoB days in the late-60s, aged 5 or 6 I can clearly remember walking over the wing of a Lightning (on rubber matting placed over the wing) and sitting in the cockpit of a Gnat. After that, it was the first Duxford open day, in 1973, with just a single hangar full of aircraft stored by the IWM, the main memory from that day is looking up at the guns in the nose of the Shackleton.

Seeing that the RAF couldn’t manage to fly even a solo Typhoon at shows this year, any ideas of mixed formations would seem to be pie in the sky in this day and age.

Nicely presented Video – now if only we could have an RAF Heritage Flight here utilising the existing BBMF plus more…..

It has been done, with a BBMF Spitfire and Tornado F3, then Typhoon, on several occasions over the years.
