The Avenger and B-25 are not scheduled to go back into the AAM. They were on the IWM’s list of potential disposals a few years back, but I believe the current plan is to keep them.
The Shackleton is owned by the RAF Museum, it certainly has NOT been ‘struck off charge’ by them.
The F-86 left for the US. There really haven’t been many others in recent years. The L-39 and T-33 were wrecked, the Hunters went to Scampton.
Well, we were in and out in the space of less than 10 minutes, so the ensuing placatory meal was considerable cheaper than that! 🙂
Indeed Moggy. As we left one such museum a month or so back, my wife described it to me as ‘a tin shed full of junk’. Unfortunately I had to agree with her.
The only display the T-33 and F-100 will be on is the back of a trailer as they head out of the gate
How cares if it is a Spanish copy!
Apparently Spanish knock-offs are permitted, but not French ones, in the IWM’s Luftwaffe collecting policy.
David,
I presume you mean that contacting the guys at Shobden would be Vanessa’s best bet?
If the complete run of PROPLINER could be offered for sale on CD-ROM (as Air Britain has done with their publication), I will certainly buy iy.
However that would totally destroy any commercial value that their stocks of back issues have, so would be a non-starter.
“A Taylorcraft built in an anvil factory”, as an American friend of mine calls them. 🙂
I’d say that the wing dihedral in the first picture tends to suggest Wildcat too
Just a note, there is no Crowne Plaza and and hasn’t been for some years now. It is now called the Cambridge City Hotel

Interesting shot, with the G-32A in the background
Why would RN personnel be posing with a Buffalo when the service never operated the type?
I’d go with an early Martlet I.
