far better value, but are they even trustworthy ? they’ll dump the minute they see that u’re no more of use to them, and thats when their fake morals will all of a sudden come to the fore.
Its not a question of “fake morals” every country does whats in its own interests, but interesting to see your opinion about teh very country you reside in…..
and Pakistan has been very skillful in paying money upfront for the F-16s and then not even getting equipment it paid for. and now again they wanna buy the same stuff from the same Americans, and they’re smart about it ?
No, its not wise, but Pakistan does not have much choice, India does, but still gets taken to the cleaners, there lies the difference, additionally I think , personally, that US equipment is far better value for money
PAF adds new bombs to its arsenal
By Arshad Sharif
ISLAMABAD, Dec 17: Pakistan Air Force has integrated the H-4 out-of-sight target bombs in its arsenal of fighter aircraft, official sources said. The incorporation of H-4 bombs have added to the capability of the PAF to hit out-of-sight targets from a distance of up to 120 kilometres to evade enemy radars during air strikes. A lighter version of the bomb, H-2 model, can hit the out-of-sight targets from a range of up to 60 kilometres.
“It is a step towards adding the Beyond Visual Range (BVR) missiles to our arsenal for defensive purposes and to address the strategic imbalance in the region,” sources said.
The indigenously produced H-4 bombs is an achievement of the National Engineering and Scientific Commission (NESCOM), which works in close collaboration with Pakistan Missile Organizationand the Air Weapons Complex.
“Three successful tests of H-4, with the latest conducted this year, produced satisfactory results leading to addition of arsenal in the fighter jets,” the sources said.
The H-4 bombs have been made through indigenous efforts by modifying the technological design of South African T-Darter BVR missiles. Till the induction of JF-17 Thunder in 2006, with a provision for BVRs, the H-2 and H-4 bombs could be carried by Mirage fighter jets. The H-4 infrared device is said to be comparable to that of the AA11, AA12 and Python 4 in the Indian arsenal. 😀
Moreover, the sources said, fighter aircraft in PAF’s arsenal have the “provision” to be fitted with precision-guided munitions and BVR missiles. When asked about advantages of BVR in Indian arsenal, PAF spokesperson Air Commodore Sarfaraz said: “We are aggressively trying to utilize whatever equipment we have to its optimum operational limits through professional training and by pursuing high standards of maintenance.”
Mr Sarfaraz said: “We are aware of our technological needs and are vigorously trying to meet those requirements either through procurements or indigenous developments.” 😀
Now, how on earth does the T-Darter get the range of 120 km ? and how on earth does one modify an air-to-air missile with its light warhead to make it a PGM ? .
As usual the Pakistani press messed up,not the first time and definately wont be the last

Check out this thread on that forum. each guy claims something else about the H-2 and H-4, someone claiming its AtoA and someone else that its AtoG. and look at the ranges claimed ! 😀
just goes to show why noone will believe you when you just say something. bring the proof to back it up.
That forum is a joke, I was referring to Pakdef and not pakistanidefence, I dont know how you mixed the two….?
where’s all the bullcrap about the 70+ pilots going to UAE to fly their F-16s ? and the other stuff that was being claimed ?
The article you brought up does’nt show anything new that we have’nt already heard of, but at least the claim was’nt that some guy at PakDef is to be taken as a credible source of info.
If you bothered to read my orginal post I said I could not vouch for it, but I tend to believ the poster on Pakdef as he has often been right on past issues such as AH-1 purchase, Orion Purchase and extra C-130s. frankly I am not asking you to believe me and dont really care, but if going by past performance then I tend to belive the poster
No denying that at all, the US are not giving Pakistan weapons out of the kindness of there heart, but at least they are not making us pay through the nose, if you ask me India has not been very skillful in negotiating with the Russians and trying to push them down on price….
Rafale ?! 😀 which dreamland do your PakDef guys live in ?
and just pulling stuff out of your arse and presenting it does’nt make it a fact. just saying “oh some guys said something at PakDef ” does’nt make it the truth. present a solid article from somewhere. why is that F-16.net does’nt mention any of the fibs that you’re presenting here ?
No one wants people like you around….if it really does hurt you reading PAF threads may I sugges you stay away from them?

The chief of the Pakistan Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Kaleem Saadat, stated that the US Government will be looking into selling F-16 fighter jets to Pakistan after the US elections in November.
According to Sadaat, this is a result of Pakistan’s co-operation in the war on terror.
Preliminary word is that 18 F-16’s will be made available once approval is given by Congress. Furthermore, Pakistan hopes this to be the first of a series of orders for more F-16. Pakistan also wants to push for AMRAAM type missiles.
Pakistan’s last order for 71 F-16’s was stopped at a production total of 28 which were embargoed and stored. Only recently was that money returned to Pakistan and the 28 aircraft were sent to the USAF and USN. Before the aircraft were embargoed, 40 F-16’s were built and delivered to Pakistan. Of these only about 30 are still in service.
Happy, or you wanna continuw flaming? 😉
You know the press is very problematic. Only good in cooking Spicy Political Biryanis.
Yup and its not just Pakistani press who frequently “cook badly”!
Posted on Pakdef, cant vouch for its validity, but interesting never the less
*PAF has embarked on advance training courses on all active and inactive pilots of F-16s with USAF.
*In the second batch, an AC & GC were given detailed briefing on F-16 E/F Block 60.
*The US has given clearance for PAF to send 70+ pilots on 3-5 years deputation to UAE AF to help them fly their F-16. This group of pilots will be under the command of an AC of PAF.
*The JF-17 and Grifo-M upgraded Mirages will carry H-2 and H-4 BVRAAM. The H-2 missile has range of 32 miles and H-4 missile has a range of 65 miles. The H-4 has a lot of help from South Africa and PAF will also integrate H-2 into F-7PG.
*PAF will most likely buy both Erieye and E-2C AEW &C.
*Mirage-2000 has been more or less dropped from the potential list of future fighters. Main runner are newer F-16, J-10, Gripen and Rafale.
Which is still a lot cheaper than buying the same items from elsewhere.
India today has the best of three worlds, it buys custom designed items from Russia and incorporate western, Israeli and Indian subsystems. But the flip side being that the Russians lose out on $$, so they crib. 😀And most of the equipment we got earlier from the Russians like the MiG’s and T72’s,BMP’s etc was practically handed over for free. 😀
Thats was in the days of Soviet empire, if you look at the prices on the Gorshkov, the T-90s et al, you will realise who is getting the best deal here……
Well, I personally would not take the Russians on their word, they have been supplying Pakistan with MI-8, MI-17s, parts for our T-80/84s when we bought them, they will quietly go on doing business with both sides if there is money in it, just like the French do…
PN P-3C with 4 Harpoons, we will have 10 of these bad boys soon….
F-22E Strike Raptor!?
Just give that babu an additional two seats some CFTs and new avionics and way hey! The wing at Lakenheath will be in business for another 50 odd years!
😉
The coolest PAF F-16 pic ever!?
