Sigh! As usual some DDM’s missed on some occasional typo’s, incase it required too much processing power pak thunder i think you could have figured out (maybe) that HAL was exporting Dhruv to Israel.

Its not the first time it has been reported, but good to know that the choppers have been manufactured and are awaiting delivery.
Other interesting points are the order of 20 more Tejas and 31 more Dhruv choppers, besides taking up the manfacture of more prototypes of IJT’s Sitara.

I hope the addition of a word makes it much more readable, and perhaps in the future you could refrain yourself from adding one liner cheap shots.

I think we figured that out thanks, the cause of my joy was the fact that an Indian reporter could not figure it out……

that F-16 arrival will sent the right political message across the border. I am all for it. i personally want to see that Gripen with Meteor for PAF. ERIEYE will need to see atleast 400KM on the other side from 100kM inside.

According to Flight International and Janes, it looks like F-16 C/Ds, Block 52 or 60, PAF want 18-25 folloed by another 60

If this goes ahead, along with JF-17this can mean immediate replacement of mirages and F-7s

Giving Pakistan a potential fleet of

    80 F-16C/Ds
    32 F-16s A/Bs (MLU?)
    200 JF-17s

This, coupled with 7 Erieye and 10 P-3Cs

will give us the AEW, SIGINT and air defence force which should be able to handle any threat in our neihbourhood, especially if AMRAAM is released for F-16s and SD-10 is available for JF-17

As I said in the other thread that Arthur locked on Friday, I really wouldn’t take those figures as being “gospel” whatsoever.

I didn’t have much time over the weekend to go through it country-by-country but, because I’m working on something related, I happpened to look at a couple:

The French Army are listed as having:

    64 x AS532M Cougar
    25 x AS532UL Cougar

The grand total for both of these types in French Army use is 22!

They also list 10 x EC725 Cougar Mk.II as being in service: none of these have been delivered yet. Much the same for the Tigre: 8 are shown as being in service.

With figures as inaccurate as this for France, how can you possibly accept those for other countries without further research and cross-reference? For example, how can FI possibly state that there are 195 airworthy Mirage III/V? Has Pakistan really taken delivery of Mi-35 Hinds? This was vigorously denied on at least one Pakistani forum recently.

    Best regards

    Steve Rush ~ Touchdown-News

    Very good point Steve
How did FI go round compiling these lists!?
Lots of there info on the Pak inventory (different marks of Mirage, number of F-7s) appear accurate, I must admit, the number of Atlantiques suprised me, I always thought we had 3-4 operational.
It would be interesting to read your thoughts on how one could possibly get an accurate (as possible) listings of Pakistans inventory?

What a bunch of BS. Indian Caucus in the US has equal number of republicans as well as democrats. Every year they have one republican and one democratic co-chairperson. Same goes for Senate Friends of India.

Everyone knows that the P-3Cs, PHALANX and TOW2A aare all meant for Pakistan’s defenses against India.

Now, no Indian lobby nor any lobby for that matter can block a sale when a US President is all for it. What they CAN do is to ensure there are conditionalities put between the time a deal is done and a goods are delivered. That is why you have pending legislation in Congress, all with Republican backers as well that make conditionalities with such a language that it’s hard for any administration to veto them.

The P-3Cs and any other deal, including the F-16s are planned for the 2004-05 to 2009-10 year range when the $1.5 billion military aid to Pakistan is to be disbursed, with specific proliferation, terrorism and other benchmarks that Pakistan has to meet every year for funds to be disbursed. Now if within any year if the Congress does not appropriate funds for FMS to Pakistan, deliveries will stop, otherwise they go on.

Let’s see the specifics of these deals, the timings of schedulted deliveries etc. and balance that out with Congressional mandates.

well so far the C-130s, AH-1s, and new radars have come with no congrssional strings attached, so if this is the Indian strategy, its not working so far…

    ok guys, a question.

What sort of upgrade these 8 orions are getting plus the two PN operates now. Any speculations or inside news?

Non at all, all we know are that they will be P-3Cs, no news on what block, but would be suprsied if they were not II.75 or higher, as this is the spec PN already has

The funny part is that IAF has told openly that PAF getting F16’s wouldn’t make much difference and this guy is busy with writing the usual rhetoric. Funny that guys like Blackwill and Pallone are obsessed. The goodies are not only providing US more control but also a first front against terrorism. I agree that education and economic is important but sofar a part of those funds is directed to that section. Without these weapons Pakistan will face tough times combatting terrorism. Sofar they showed progress in Wana operations but with more and better weapons the terrorist will be crushed. The sooner they can do that the better for the rest of the world.

    Tiger
I think its fairly obvious to anyone with even a passing interest in US politics, that Pallone is on the payroll of the Indian lobby, he would not be doing this had not the Indian lobby asked him to….

    Testing of anti-tank missiles held

ISLAMABAD, March 1: Vice Chief of Army Staff, Gen Mohammad Yusaf Khan witnessed a spectacular fire power demonstration of indigenously manufactured missiles by Cobra Gunship helicopters in a night training exercise during his visit to an exercise area on Friday.

Cobra helicopters successfully engaged targets with indigenously manufactured anti-tank missiles having a range of over 3.5 kilometres.

Gen Mohammad Yusaf Khan met the pilots and technicians of Army Aviation Combat Group who took part in the live firing demonstration.

He appreciated the accuracy of fire, standard of training and professional skills. “Combat efficiency and precision in hitting the targets have further enhanced his confidence in operational capability of the men and material,” he added. Senior army officers were also present on the occasion.

Earlier, on arrival, the Vice Chief of Army Staff was received by the Corps Commander Lt-Gen Syed Mohammad Amjad. It was followed by a comprehensive briefing on operational plan and the state of preparedness of the troops. The VCOAS expressed his satisfaction with the high state of preparedness and alertness of the officers and jawans.-APP

If the boys at Flight have their facts right, and those 18 Vipers are new build C/Ds, then we can expect Block 50/52 or 60
